Sydney’s endless concessions and free passes have riled me for an age.

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
No difference between the two.
The Lions "academy" is also untouchable
They're in the GF & will get ANOTHER F/S gun (Ashcroft), for some BS draft picks
AND also they get another untouchable gun from their "academy" - Sam Marshall
Who does Marshall play for ?
A team in Queensland ??
No
He plays for Sandringham !!!
What the FXXX ????
Total FXXXING BS

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
Concessions are overblown- they used their first round picks to select all academy players. I don’t think that is understood
Yes, the got exclusive access to them but they had to pay a price.

Swans, best side all year.
Finished comfortably on top of the ladder so deserve it more than anyone.

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
reckon sydney deserve it. best team all year. geared up fitness for finals weeks back and lost games and everyone dropped off them. not many teams have the comfort of ladder position to do it, but we've seen it before.
happy for either team though, and brisbane got a reamed a bit last year as the afl went all out on a pies flag. so good luck to them.

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
Obviously it will be the Swans. Lions played their grand final last week plus, as we usually (sometimes...lol) beat the eventual premier, then it has to be the Swans. I just hope it's close, as blowouts are boring.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
Both teams deserve to win.
Swans have been the best team. You knew they were set for a big year after the first few rounds. Their young guns were a bit star struck in the 2022 Grand Final and the scoreline was a bit embarrassing for them. This could be their year for glory and redemption at the same time
Swans don't have too many older players apart from Rampe (34) and Parker and Lloyd (both 31). If Swans don't win it this year, I'm sure they'll be thereabouts in years to come.
Brisbane were unlucky in last year's Grand Final. That result could have gone either way. They've got an older group of players, who could possibly fall away in form next year. They have a fair bit of talent in their team to go with their grit and determination for another opportunity.
Shame about the Big O. Brisbane are hungry and if they don't have too many sore players, perhaps we might get a close game, but you can't ignore 3 tough weeks of footy with the last 2 being on the road. I think the fatigue factor will override their hunger for the premiership.
The Swans played both their finals at home. I think the Swans get it done.

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
Bears mauled us by 85 points at home and I think RTB said afterwards they are the best team in it. They had Carlton 0-60 near half time in the second semi-final.
They’ve loads of talent and if they turn up they are frighteningly good. If they don’t they’re beatable.
Swans probably have a better tactical coach and a better system for consistency. Plus there’s Heeney … along with some others.
Swans by 3 points. I hope it’s a great game

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
Sydney used pick 19 for Heeney who was rated 1 or 2 very similar to Mills.
Its a ridiculous leg up.

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
Swans finished the last 3 H&A rounds with wins, won both finals plus a week off to reach GF.
Lions won only 1 of last 3 H&A games and had some very tough encounters from 5th spot, including 2 miraculous come-from-behind wins, to reach GF.
Based on that form Sydney players should be more rested and less sore than Brisbane to come out on top, but in a 2 horse race they're no certainty - I'm tipping Sydney by less than 10 points.

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
Who said Heeney was rated 1 or 2?
If so
Why wasn’t there an earlier bid on him?
We got a leg up in 2000-2001-2002
And either selected the wrong player or developed them poorly
That’s on us

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
Port's forward line didn't turn up against the Swans- their key forwards never got near it and their crumbers were no good. Brisbane can kick big scores, so I think that will do it for them.

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
About 20 years ago I had a work colleague who was a Brisbane supporter. He said to me one day that Riewoldt was a sook and that St Kilda was a club that would never win a premiership in his lifetime, because they were an inferior club. Perhaps he was right but I have never forgotten nor forgiven. Sydney please.

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
That was the rule at the time they had to use there first round pick.
Yes we got early pick s because we were last.
In 09 I’m sure we’d have loved Dustin Martin handed to us.

Sydney for mine......
Brisbane has the three most punchable forwards in the league in Hipwood, Daniher and Cameron

Re: The Swans or the Lions ?
Many at the time rated Heeney the best in the draft. I don't think early bidding existed then.
