Towball extends for a year
as per Callum Twomey
Zac Jones signed on for 2025
during the year, according to some on here, he was yelled at by Ross on the track and folks reckoned he was toast.
His last few games were a glimpse of 2020/2021 Jones.
(Average disp 2020 19.00 disp across 16 games
2021 - 23 disp across 13 games)
Here's hoping he can sustain.
13 games this year.
WCE 26 disp
Ess 22
Lions 16 (57% TOG)
Tigers 19
Cats 21
Blues 19 (including split-second h/b to Higgo)

Re: Towball extends for a year
He saved his career at the last minute with an outstanding burst of form in the second half of the year.
Once he got over his injuries he showed what he's capable of. I trust the high performance staff keep him on the ground.
Our injuries have been an albatross around our necks for at least three years. Jones is a good example of our potential. Too often that potential was sitting in the stands.
We had injury problems almost as dire as Carlton's throughout the year. It cost them dearly, a year wasted. Their high performance team got cleared out. I wonder how RTB and the Round Table view the performance of our lot?

Re: Towball extends for a year
He’s a depth midfielder and I think this is a reasonable signing.
He is well suited to the sub role where he can have impact around the ball.
If he’s a first choice mid I’d be concerned.

Can’t have mids running at 50%
You normally have 4 inside mids rotating through 3 onfield spots
3 wingers rotating maybe with a HHF
7 forwards rotating
7 defenders rotating

Saved his career (for now) post bye
He’s a handy player, has good patches in games (normally q1)
But still goes missing.
Hopefully his body can stay healthy

Re: Towball extends for a year
That was my point (badly made, i'll admit).
Need a big preseason from both of them.
