Ken Hinkley is the biggest fraud in Football annd an deadset cockhead and if you think that is how a coach should behave you are crazy!

What do you expect these days? Long gone are the fights or all in brawls.

You can't have fists flying, so it's all words and banter in the heat of battle.

It's all theatre.

It builds rivalries

The AFL might end up asking Ken to apologise again during the week, but secretly... they're loving it

Ginnivan publicly disses Port, entire media corp says Hinkley is a dead man walking and post game Ken points out to Ginnivan he won't be flying to a prelim. Hawks can dish it but can't take it. Mitchell's characterisation in his presser was hyperbole of a disappointed man.

A 60 year old coach taunting opposition players after winning a close final is as pathetic as it gets. Seriously embarrassing stuff. Deadset d**khead behaviour.

Storm in a teacup.
Nothing in it if Sicily hadn't acted like a sore loser and escalated.
Was Ginnevan upset, in tears at being scolded, is he a sensitive flower? Hardly, just an average footballer wanting attention.
All week the media pounded KH expecting his head on a plate and the Hawks caravan to roll on. But neither happened and all those pre written obituaries are wasted. Second beat 6th and the bear finally reacted to being prodded. Oh my gosh.

Sicily misses the chance to win the game and then loses his s*** in a spat with Hinkley.

Hinkley shouldn't have done what he did but seeing Sicily lose it was worth it from my perspective

Right, so if that was Jack Steele you'd be happy with him saying nothing and not reacting?

Absolute horse s*** to expect Sicily not to react. If you're happy with coaches and officials taunting opposition players after a win, then you've got no idea about competitive sport. Do that at a local game of footy and it's almost a guaranteed all in brawl, spectators included.

s*** behaviour by a coach who can't seem to handle the heat that comes with the job.

Good stuff Ken. Good to see a bit of human emotion boil over in an over-regulated, increasingly robotic game. He certainly got the players to play for him.

"Unprofessional", yes, but I love it. In a way, aspects of Mitchell's press conference were "unprofessional" - they lost, treat it professionally, no need for the excessively sombre violin strings.

All good for the AFL.

It was not a personal sledge or an insult by Ken - quite funny really; if you mouth off like Ginnevan does you have to cop it sweet when you fall on your face. Sicily has a hair trigger and is a nasty piece of work. Defend him? Never.
Remember Mitchell having a go at Essendon players when he was captain and Hawks beat them: with his smirk and strut handing out injection sledges/miming. Hypocritical and arrogant now posing as righteous. They can dish it but don't like it back, and the plethora of Hawks in the media are just biased cheerleaders. Ken's remarks really touched a nerve with the Hawthorn royalty who really are up themselves.

Yeah all that seems a bit convoluted. Point is, you had a coach step on the field after a game and taunt opposition players. Should never happen. End of story.

I get people don't like Hawthorn and all that. Understandable. Anyway, we move on.

Someone should have handed Mitchell a box of tissues in that presser.

Hawthorn supporters must be feeling pretty miserable today. Oh well. 😂🤣🖕

Loved it but unprofessional
Should’ve just smiled
He would’ve been asked in the presser
Then say “… maybe I’ll post something on X (twitter) …” 😁

The adverse reaction towards Hinkley's gestures to Ginnivan post game is typical of the 'woke' era we live in, political correctness gone mad!

You only need to look at Hinkley's broad smile while he was having a "crack at Jack" to understand that he was poking fun at a little bloke who fancies himself as some sort of social media darling, when in reality he is nothing more than a comic opera support actor. Ginnivan has acted like a fool ever since he left Collingwood.

That sort of poor behaviour would never have been tolerated when John Kennedy and Alan Jeans coached the Hawks.

Wtf does 'woke' have to do with it?

Does 'woke' mean you disagree with people having brains?

You are either aware of consequences or you're not. What Ginnivan did had the potential to fire up the opposition and it possibly gave Port the spark they needed. Those were the consequences

However... Ginnivan didn't potentially incite violence or something ugly in the aftermath of a highly emotional loss on field.

The reactions from Sam Mitchell, Luke Hodge, and Jordan Lewis were all biased in support of Hawthorn, but that doesn't excuse Hinkley.

Players and coaches at all levels copy what they see in the AFL. We don't want possible violence erupting after the final siren at suburban footy ovals. Those are the consequences

I just watched Mitchell's press conference. He is a miserable sulky poor loser. Port were by far the dominant side all night and his effing Dorks were lucky to get as close as they did. MInd you they had more than a little help from the maggots.

Even in boxing you shake hands after the final bell

Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

Ken could have started his after match press conference taunting Jack and the Hawthorn FC, but instead he was apologising for his behaviour

Maybe you missed it Scollop, but Hinkley was laughing as he gestured towards Ginnivan, it wasn't in any way malicious, just poking fun. This lighthearted spat was nothing like the way Mick Malthouse hurled abuse at Stephen Milne years ago, which was out of bounds, yet some treat it as if it was....

Big deal if Hinkley was laughing. Big deal if he thought it was lighthearted.

If St Kilda lost a game of footy on the death knell years ago and someone from the opposition taunted one of Joffa's team mates or if someone smiled and taunted Plugger after the final siren...what do you think would have happened?

What if it was Dermot Brereton instead of Sicily? Could have turned into something ugly. It's taken 30 years to eliminate excessive violence out of the game.

Coaches and players are ambassadors for the game at the highest level

I'm just saying...he realised straight away it was the wrong thing to do. He was genuinely apologetic and that his emotions got the better of him...by the way - I'm just as much a hot head as Hinkley

Huh? You're contradicting yourself, mate. Just as John Kennedy and Alan Jeans wouldn't have tolerated Ginnivan's behaviour, they would never have stooped to the level of taunting opposition players.

Woke has nothing to do with it. That sort of behaviour has never been part of our game.
