Sydney vs GWS qualifying final
Fierce contests all over the ground. GWS settled better. Swans yet to score a goal
Winner goes straight into a prelim and gets a weeks rest... they're going to need it.

How is Tom McFartin going?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Sydney vs GWS qualifying final
Toby Greene stuffed up with an easy kick from 20m out...no angle at all...he was running straight in front of goals. He had a lot more time than he realised.
Peatling also missed a sitter from a set shot
Swans 1-4. 10
GWS. . 2-5. 17

Re: Sydney vs GWS qualifying final
Umpire from 50m away pays a free kick for high tackle. He basically guessed
The officiating umpire closer in didn't call it high. Lucky gifted goal to GWS

He's doing well considering he's on the best full forward in the comp at the moment.
Hogan is a beast.

Re: Sydney vs GWS qualifying final
I really don’t understand the rules anymore.
I couldn’t see that was a free kick to Toby McMillan for the first goal of the 2nd quarter.
GWS missed some absolute sitters in the first.

Re: Sydney vs GWS qualifying final
What a shame Hogan took so long to reach his full potential, he had completely understandable reasons for it, but sheez he's the type of FF I'd love playing for us.
GWS look physically stronger than the other genuine contenders.
Papley and Warner need to get over themselves and get back to playing the game.

He's a tackling machine like Jack Steele...
Except Steele never misses easy set shots from 25m out.

Re: Sydney vs GWS qualifying final
The AFL knows they're competing with NRL and soccer and other sports which are more popular in those states, so they need Sydney and GWS to be successful. People will get on board when they see those teams winning
The Victorian clubs voted for expansion didn't they?
It's a mega Billion dollar business and NSW is a huge part of their growth strategy.
We know it's an unfair system. At some stage the AFL will need to change some of their concessions, but for now...it's good for ratings and the AFL business model for Sydney and GWS to succeed.

And the AFL gifted him to Sydney after they played in a GF.
Great system no idea how Sydney remain competitive

Re: Sydney vs GWS qualifying final
If our club focusses on getting in the right talent... instead of crying or whinging about the talent on other lists we'll be fine.
We wasted most of our draft picks on mature ready made players (and guys like Allison, Connelly, Highmore etc.) instead of finding jewels like Poowong's Newcombe
We still have this fascination with bringing in senior players instead of finding the next Jai Newcombe...or Cal Wilkie

The brown baggers kicked 11 of the last 16 goals but too late she cried.

Re: Sydney vs GWS qualifying final
GWS ran out of legs in the last 15 minutes of the game when the Sydney midfielders took over. Its the Giants weakness the lack of run through the midfield Green, Ward, Coniglio are slow and dont run out games well. Toby Green has had the worst year of his career he is no where near it this year.

These players sound good for St Kilda. They are just the right type that our list managers are usually looking forSteeleSaints wrote: ↑Sun 08 Sep 2024 5:21pm Green, Ward, Coniglio are slow and dont run out games well. Toby Green has had the worst year of his career he is no where near it this year.
