Trading pick #8 for Houston would be one of the worst list management decisions this club has ever made - and there have been plenty of absolute shockers. Stop looking for sugar hits and build a list capable of sustainable sucess FFS. He is completely the player we dont need we need midfielders or an elite key defender.

Very unlikely to get pick 8, end of round one probably best case but in what dips supposed to be a deep draft don’t trade early picks our first should be best available mid and second best available player maybe a versatile tall

It seems to be a genuine 50-50.

I heard on SEN that the Hawks would front end Battle's contract which would mean that we will get first round compo.
Hopefully pick 8. And we need it.

The Hawks were always front loading Battle to fit in with their wage structure. They will want the cash available to meet the demands of their kids when they come up for their big contracts.

The AFL restructuring the compo to only look at the first 5 years actually pushes his average up once they chop off the cheap 6th year, so that might help us.
