So tell us why?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

I thought he was performing ok. Our listed players have done well and improved their footy in the VFL
Jones, Dow, Clark, Garcia, Sharman and Pou all seem to have benefited from their time with him

I thought Pou worked with Lenny Hayes mainly, or was that a rumour from Tom Morris/Sam McClure

Hayes is one of 3 development coaches. Batchelor played a huge role.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Thu 05 Sep 2024 8:05pmI thought Pou worked with Lenny Hayes mainly, or was that a rumour from Tom Morris/Sam McClure

Re: Sandy Coach and Saints Asst Jake Batchelor
Good question.
I wonder if the next Sandy coach will be an RTB choice ?
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Sounds like Ross and Misson have conjured something up. I hope he left on his own accord.

Re: Sandy Coach and Saints Asst Jake Batchelor
Quite a few wags on here have bemoaned the disconnect between Zebs and Saints.
Other clubs seem to have a great pathway from their reserve teams.
We've just cut Allison after 4 years, and each year we have guys in Zebs just stagnate with no real improvement.
Maybe Ross and Misson have someone in mind who can refresh the Zebs and turn it into a proper nursery for our younguns to build talent.
Any former Saints that played under RTB who are currently assistants at another club?
Sam Gilbert played for the Zebs in 2019 as a playing assistant coach.
He was playing for the Northern Bullants this season- first game was 31 May.

Re: Sandy Coach and Saints Asst Jake Batchelor
I thought there was a rule around assistant coaches where they needed to know before seasons end if they were being renewed to allow them to explore other options.

I think they always have to be told by end of August if they’re not being kept on.

Re: Sandy Coach and Saints Asst Jake Batchelor
No big deal, six years including four as coach of the reserves is enough, it's not as though Sandringham has achieved much success during his tenure.
It makes perfect sense for both Batchelor and the Saints for him to move on and St Kilda to get some fresh blood into the development role....

Watching the atrocious ball movement at Sandy for the past few years has been putrid viewing. Time for someone else.
