I can't recall us benefiting from free agency, I imagine we may have got one, but wouldn't surprise me if we haven't got one.
Free agency, in my opinion has put the competition back to the 1980's where money bought you success. It just appears only a few clubs are benefiting from it at the expense of the rest of the competition.

Goddard left but we traded away the 1st round compo

We got pick 13 and traded it along with 26 & 55 to Gold Coast for Hickey, pick 25 & 46

Our pick 12 (existing pick) we traded to GWS for Tom Lee, pick 24 & 45

As it was it was pretty poor draft in 2012 after pick 10 but the Pelchen years were horrific

Overall FA only benefits the big clubs .
High profile FA'S don't say " I want to go to the Suns cos I love their culture, playing in front of huge crowds each week and never say die ethos !"
We've picked up a few decent ones but all have been it's either us or the scrapheap!

I'd go as far to say the worst draft in the history of AFL drafts.
Probably only about 5-6 guns, similar number of very good players then it falls away dramatically.

We have Membrey & Wood from that draft still playing but both commenced with other clubs.

Our live picks at #24 & #25 netted Nathan Wright & Spencer White with #12 traded for Tom Lee (might have been some sweetners).

Pretty sure the only poster on this site that rated Lee was good old Curly, but as we know Curly knows football
