Re: Votes v Blues
Based on outcome and big efforts
1. Higgins ( very few players can kick that goal)
2. NWM ( silky what can you say)
3. Pou ( skill, poise, can kick for goal better.... )
4. Jones ( great smother)
5. Battle ( we need to keep him)

2 Pou
1 Clark
1 Wilson
1 Steele
1 NWM
1 Marshall
1 Byrnes
Sinclair clearly Best for Saints and BOG according to at least one radio station.
Probably the only player on the ground to make something of all of his (28) possessions.
Very even performance from several other Saints players.
Scollop once again couldn't find a place for Sinclair in his top 6 players for the Saints.

Surprised to see Battle in a couple of posters' votes.... I thought he wasn't as prominent as usual today, neither was Cal Wilkie

By the way…I’m not Robinson Crusoe. You’ll find not everyone voted for him. It’s not clear at all that he was BOG. If Pou hits that last goal it’s a no brainer that he is BOG
Sinclair is playing back in defence. He gets plenty of cheap possessions from kicking out when oppo teams kick a behind. Today he got 4 and Nas got 4. Take out his 4 kicks and judge him on 24 possessions and compare what he does with Hunter or Pou or Steele
I generally value our mids. Clark, Pou and Steele had the bulk of our inside 50’s and centre clearances.

Cal was rated by Champion Data as being in the bottom 5 of our team, AF points- 31, same as Garcia.silverhalo wrote: ↑Sun 25 Aug 2024 10:03pm Surprised to see Battle in a couple of posters' votes.... I thought he wasn't as prominent as usual today, neither was Cal Wilkie
Cal got 4 kicks, 2 marks, 7 handballs

Re: Votes v Blues
I would hardly call Sinclair's possessions cheap! He had 10 contested, the most of any player in the side, plus 5 intercepts. I suggest you have another look at the game and maybe you might see how effective his game was. You have judged him harshly most of the year and undervalued his contribution.Scollop wrote: ↑Sun 25 Aug 2024 10:45pmStalker…StPeter wrote: ↑Sun 25 Aug 2024 9:52pm

Re: Votes v Blues
That's not true. I have only judged him harshly in a few games. You forget I'm one of his strongest supporters

Re: Votes v Blues
Funny game, I thought Carlton had at least 4 of the best 5 on the ground and that their effort at the ball was slightly greater than that ours, but in the end, our turnovers proved less costly.
