OUT Caminiti (injured)
IN Phillipou (Recovered)
No one at VFL level today put their hand up.
The opportunity was there but it was not taken.

If we lose to Carlton that should keep the skunks out of the finals
I will enjoy some solace either way

Given Hill is likely to miss it will be someone.
Perhaps Hastie.

Re: Changes vs Carlton
I get that no one has put there hand up today…
But Keeler has steadily improved and is now in a position to play as a rotating ruck predominant forward with Marshall.
Let’s get a look at it

Re: Changes vs Carlton
It would be awesome to beat the scum and Freo win, thus knocking the Scum out of the finals. The filth have to hope we win, Freo lose and they flog Dee’s by a truckload to get in.
Actually just checked - filth would need to win by 200 points lol
But seeing Carlscum miss would be sublime!!

Re: Changes vs Carlton
Apart from two injury outs, the same team, so who comes in? Looking at Sandy yesterday, practically nobody put their hand up for selection, in fact the only Sandy Saint who really played their guts out was Campbell, and a reasonable effort from McLennan who will probably come back in. I don't think Lyon would have been over the moon at what he saw.

I get that but overall he’s been improving considerably and had been in decent form prior to this match.Bernard Shakey wrote: ↑Mon 19 Aug 2024 11:43amKeeler did nothing at Sandy yesterday.skeptic wrote: ↑Sun 18 Aug 2024 12:47amI give that a big like but has to be Keeler at this stagenostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Sun 18 Aug 2024 12:38am Out: Hill (inj), Cammaniti (inj)

We’ve now lost a tall forward that acted as the relief ruck that is the exact role that we’re pbly wanting from Keeler and we’re playing in a game that means nothing to us.
Personally I’d role the dice here and have a look at the Marshall/Keeler combo that we’re hoping for

Dow will not be sub but Garcia will play a full game.

Mate based on his last 2 games I wouldnt give Keeler the time of day let alone a game.skeptic wrote: ↑Sun 18 Aug 2024 12:47amI give that a big like but has to be Keeler at this stagenostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Sun 18 Aug 2024 12:38am Out: Hill (inj), Cammaniti (inj)

Like 6 disposals and zero effort given on Sunday. Weak as.

Re: Changes vs Carlton
I won’t pretend to know how good Keeler is, but let’s give the kid a go. Campbell has been an incredible stalwart for our vfl team but he doesn’t have the qualities we need at AFL level. Let’s see how he goes and cross our fingers that Weitering doesn’t go to him…..skeptic wrote: ↑Mon 19 Aug 2024 11:52amI get that but overall he’s been improving considerably and had been in decent form prior to this match.Bernard Shakey wrote: ↑Mon 19 Aug 2024 11:43amKeeler did nothing at Sandy yesterday.skeptic wrote: ↑Sun 18 Aug 2024 12:47amI give that a big like but has to be Keeler at this stagenostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Sun 18 Aug 2024 12:38am Out: Hill (inj), Cammaniti (inj)

Re: Changes vs Carlton
The game is at Docklands, so a “fast surface”
Noting we have played Campbell there once this season which I would not have done

Collingwood would have to win by 100 points and we would have to beat Carlton by a similar margin for Collingwood to displace Carlton

Re: Changes vs Carlton
Keeler had a massive chance to impress RTB Sunday - was poor
Heath the same

Both Farewell Games
Garcia into the starting 22
Wilkie - Howard - Webster
Nas - Battle - Sincs
Wood - Clark - Wilson

Campbell - Steele - Jones
Garcia - Byrnes - Stocker - Phillipou
Sub
Ross
Emerg

Personally if you know they aren't playing next year and they're not in your best side/the season is over I'm playing the future.
Any of those emergencies ahead of a farewell game imo.
That said- I'd give Campbell another year.

Re: Changes vs Carlton
Absolutely believe in Farewell games
When there’s nothing to play for
Seb Ross has been at StK for 13 seasons
Played 200+ games
Won two B&Fs
Tom Campbell has been a great clubman since coming to StK
I was there in 2014 when we sent off 3 club greats
Blake, Kosi and Milney - great memory - honoured 3 great servants!!!
Blake was no longer best 22, Kosi limped to the line and Milney was still a gun
