I hope he continues to tear it up.

Re: Elwood Peckett
The AFL is planning to change the father-son rule for the 2024 draft.
It recognises that Geelong and Collingwood have been massive winners of father-son no matter what the rules.
So they intend to change the rules so that all clubs can make early selections of any eligible father-son players as happens now.
But the change is an early draft pick can NOT be matched by his father's club.
A late pick will however be able to be matched by the father's club.
The AFL as yet does not know the boundary between matching and not matching.
They first have to calculate where this St Kilda father-son pick will fall and ensure the at that pick St Kilda can not match.
It is already being referred to as the F-St Kilda rule.

I heard there has been a change to thr above rule. Any team can actually match the bid. Except St.Kilda. They will need to pay double

Re: Elwood Peckett
Rookie selection option at absolute best IMO.
Frankie Pickett will be a possible father daughter selection.
Unfortunately I don’t rate Boston Everett as a high end talent either.
Still, things can turn in a short period of time at that age so fingers crossed.
I’m waiting and hoping I’m still around when the Reivolt & Hayes boys come through
Rooeys boys could be taller than the Kings given his and his wife’s height

Re: Elwood Peckett
He was a good junior (not the best in team, that was Cooper Hynes)
He made a senior debut at 16 in the MPNFL
I see him as a solid VFL player in the future, perhaps with some AFL attributes but a bit to work on
I see him as a Arryn Siposs/Bailey Rice level at the same age

Re: Elwood Peckett
Not tell the future
But good judges can predict how a kid might turn out
Wilson - will be good (at worst Seb Ross level)
Garcia - will be better (the steal of the draft)
Collard - I am not sure about yet, haven’t seen enough yet
Schoenmaker- only his application will hold him back
Phillipou - will take some time but end up being good
Keeler - Hopefully, but is speculative atm
Hotton - I think is a bust, unless he improves quickly
Van Es - doubt he will be on the list next year

I believe Catherine Riewoldt was a champion in the sport of cheerleading (it's true). Knowing our luck, her three boys will follow her into cheerleading, which is now a professional sport in the USA.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Thu 11 Apr 2024 4:01pm Rookie selection option at absolute best IMO.

Before anyone scoffs, men are important parts of the teams as they are used to "catch and carry" the gymnasts and others who perform the routines.

I would love Rooeys boys to come to saints but it will never happen they live in the US and not coming back any time soon and even if they do the boys don't play footy they are into US sports.
He wonts to move back but his wife is happy there so its a shame but what the wife wonts happens.

Re: Elwood Peckett
What ab out the Academy GC should not be able to match a pick inside the top 40 and all the other teams should try and get the GC rule changed or allow teams to pick there academy player after the top 20-30 which how it used to be and have it for everyone even GC otherwise what is the point in putting money and recourses into your academy if you are a Vic team.

It would be no skin off the GC noses if all the academy rules were the same. none at all.Saints58 wrote: ↑Tue 16 Apr 2024 10:01am What ab out the Academy GC should not be able to match a pick inside the top 40 and all the other teams should try and get the GC rule changed or allow teams to pick there academy player after the top 20-30 which how it used to be and have it for everyone even GC otherwise what is the point in putting money and recourses into your academy if you are a Vic team.

We can't pick him up.
You cannot have an Elwood at St Kilda.
It just seems a little too close to home.

Well i think our club should ensure they take sperm samples from all our guys who have played at 50-100 games and have them stored and checked to make sure they will be boys produced in future then frozen for the future mrs players

Rooeys boys will NEVER play Aussie rules they are living in the US and will be for a long time.
I know Rooey wonts to come back to have his boys play for the saints but they are now at the age where they into US sports.
Maybe he should have gone to the US after he retired for a few years then when the boys are at the age now come back here but he didn't.
So that ship has now sailed.
