The AFL will want all the drama of having as many players fighting it out in the last few rounds for the Charlie.

They love the drama and they love keeping their major sponsor happy

Sportsbet/Tabcorp will want Heeney to get off. It means more betting on multiple players and a stack more money in the pool

Swings at a player behind the play and smacks him hard in the head, rearranging his nose. How can that NOT be a suspension? I don’t care that he’s Brownlow favourite. He has to go and the club should raise hell if he gets off

He'll get off. It's good for business

Heeney free to play and Heeney eligible for the Brownlow is good for profits

It's how the corporate world works

He’ll get off at the tribunal

Good bloke tax

If Webster did it, he’d be hung, drawn and quartered

Heeney = poster boy = need him able to win Brownlow

Webster = bad boy = weeks

Normally I reckon you are spot on.
However
AFL admin is copping a lot of flack recently and may realise the cost to what credibility it has left, and Brownlow will still be hotly contested by big names, and
if a Sydney player won there is a chance he could not attend and cause an anti climax.
So instead of being a dead cert he will get off I think it's 50/50.

They had to find intentional due to their stated interpretation from eth start of the year regarding trying to get separation.
They also had to find high contact, as he had a blood nose.
But why is it deemed "low impact"??
Surely it is moderate, as it caused a blood nose and Webster was clearly affected. Low contact does not do that whilst hight contact leads to concussion. It is clearly moderate contact.

I dont know if formulaic approach is good and maybe it is worth 1 week, but if you have a formulaic approach you need to abide by it!
Clearly should be more than 1 week.

I’ve always disliked Heeney, since he did this to Geary and got off scot-free. No doubt, he’d still get away with it today.

Yes
However the swans will argue that it was climate change was to blame for the bloody nose . Melbourne experiencing an unusual Antarctic blast of low pressure blocked by an unseasonal high pressure system in the Tasman sea led to the air pressure under the roof at Marvel to be dangerously high for the nasal cavalties of bearded individuals. Making them susceptible to spontaneous nose bleeds .
So it wasn't Heeneys fist but climate change that was responsible 🤔

We all know he'll get off its a ridiculously subjective system that allows AFL to manipulate outcomes that suits their preferences and scant criticism from media lapdogs.

Sydney's defence of Heeney at the tribunal tonight is almost going to be, Webster nose butted Heeney's hand.

I think AFL tonight said the Swans are saying Heeney didn't know Webster had lowered his head or some shite to that effect.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Isaac Heeney’s suspension has been upheld. He will miss this week’s game against North Melbourne and is ineligible for the 2024 Brownlow Medal.

The tribunal is cruel. Did they even think of the conspiracy theorists when upholding it ?

What are you talking about?

Heeney hit a bloke in the face who dropped on all fours? He could have broken his nose or given Webster concussion

Forget about the fact that it was an accident. The whole idea of an MRO and the tribunal is to prevent behaviours

Is that what you want to see at lower levels or in the VFL? Do we want forwards swinging fists and backhanders blindly to get seperation to go for a lead?

Do you want junior footballers and 15-18 year olds playing that way?

Very surprised I thought there was nothing in it. Happy with the outcome though.
