I was cheering for the Suns due to Ben Long, Bing and because as a teen+young adult living in Melb with severe asthma, each time I visited rellies in SEQ, my health improved markedly, so I've always loved SEQ, but can't abide the Lions
I wanted G Coast to win as well - King, Jeffrey, Anderson, Clohesy, Swallow, Miller

I wish our team showed more enthusiasm and spirit like I'm seeing at North- seems like half the Saints would rather be elsewhere.
I tend to agree our players are lacking enthusiasm and spirit, I'm hoping with Max King out the chemistry of the forward line improves and the players find some zip and chaos and even enjoy kicking some goals.
And with only about 5k at the game today our players will need to find a way to create their own atmosphere.
You're after a reaction ...yes?...What do they call that?

Free kicks 13 - 20 helps, typical for NM
I wonder if Jeffrey is son or nephew of Russell Jeffrey who played for us for about 60 games or so

Joel is the son of Russell, WS
Typing on phone.
Of course I meant Joel Jeffrey
I googled him and found out Russell the dad coached an NT side that won 4 flags.
Joel was put in one cup as a baby after the Grand Final #baptism

Totally over the top. They should never have been given concessions in the 2023 draft and if they are given any more assistance like being handed the NT for development as was reported last week, I will projectile
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.
They could have had JHF and Harley Reid too.
What North did was not unlike what we did over ten years ago. I think their issue may be player retention though.
I think we are on the right track now finally after stuffing up our draft picks and topping up.
Remember that there is still talk of Zurhaar leaving them and maybe LDU so it might be a little bit premature to talk of them staying off the bottom of the ladder. There are also unforseen circumstances such as injuries to key players, lots of things.
Many experts predicted North to win 5-6 matches this year and for the Hawks to finish below them. That now looks very unlikely.

Their last month has been very good. Could’ve easily won 4 straight if not for inexperience
As Joey said last night
They are off the bottom of the ladder and won’t be there again for ten years
Fair enough. Since we beat them by 6 goals they have beaten West Coast who are formidable everywhere and Gold Coast who are formidable away from home. So they have definitely gone past us.
They may get priority picks, but I don't think many of their veterans are going to stick around.
And then they will be just like Fitzroy in the 90s - if they're lucky, that is, because at least, for the main part, the 1990s 'Roys were a competitive unit who combined well.
