The kids look ok for first year players, but have a long way to go. Our game plan is a mess, midfield is poor, forward line is dysfunctional backline is very good.

I’m not in a dark world, but I’m also not in fantasy land. I am a realist. I don’t believe in a mythical god like coach, I don’t rate our list.

Being a Saints supporter is going to create a bit of negativity

Football wise.

I don’t see these players have being regressed. I see them as not have come on as quick as we would like.
I rate our list .. as other posters appointed out we have lost by such small margins. We are in the mix come on mate lighten up.

I'd like to add that my original post was to point out that regardless of how talented a team is fans just want to see relentless effort. A handful put in for 4 quarters and the rest come and go. I didn't mention names or coaches. The minimum requirement for the rest of the season should be to put in for the whole game, that's their job and what they're paid for. Just play for the jumper and care for each other then winning will come.

Again, we're 15th, and have gone backwards in both offence and defense from last year. If you can't criticise some aspects of a club in that position then all clubs will forever be above all criticism!

It's ok to say we're not doing well and things need to improve, no boogeyman is going to jump out from behind the bushes and take your membership card off you...

If we could get just get four kicks back -- goals for posters, umpiring shockers in front of goal -- one in each of our one-kick losses, we'd now be sitting at 6th on the ladder, just behind Geelong and Collingwood on %, who we almost beat / did beat. We'd be looking at this very differently

It's been a disappointing, low-scoring and un-winning season, but we're nothing like a real rock-bottom outfit.

I think that’s an illusion.

It appears that way, because the depth of talent is so thin.

We barely had enough elite talent to fill 16 teams. Add two teams with absolutely NO skin the game and now Tassie (who even I think are long overdue), there is just not enough talent to fill 19 teams.

We make our matches look even because we’re arguably well coached, but in reality, it’s a calamity the way we play, so many hospital passes, clanger kicks, forwards who can barely buy a contested mark and don’t get me started about the goal kicking.

Everyone in the game is an athlete, no doubt. But across 18 (soon to be 19), the skill set of the game has never looked worse.

All Ross has proven is that despite even being the most well-coached unit in the league, if you can’t play, you won’t win.
