Gave away a match costing free kick due to ill discipline and selfishness.

He is mentally soft....has zero resilience and zero competitive beast. Is not interested in any form of physical contest where it matters.

Nothing to do with confidence, it is a matter of no determination, lazy bum.
If St Kilda can get a top 40 pick for him TRADE.

Re: Trade King
It really was an extremely disappointing performance by Max. When he finally led up for a mark he got a Bronx cheer, which summed it up.
In the last quarter he had multiple chances to grab the game, but failed to do so.
If there is any selection integrity he must be dropped.

That late hit, resulting in a Port free at crucial moment, was the last straw. Dumb, selfish player.

Re: Trade King
Ship him up to join his superior brother at GCS. We might still get 2 first rounders, or one first rounder and a decent kid who is being starved of opportunity.
He looks and plays as though he doesn't want to be here.

Re: Trade King
Useless skinny grasshopper.
All the “leave him alone crowd” compare first 80 games played goal tallies against previous big forwards from other clubs. Most of those played their first 80 from the age of 18-22. King is 18-24 so comparing him to others is garbage.
His career average of just over 4 marks & less than 10 disposals & less than 1 tackle can easily be replaced.
Being paid significant coin to drop chest marks, kick balls out on the full. Big Gumby, trade him for a packet of mars bars. Done with him

Re: Trade King
That free was given away because he was upset at one of the port players pushing him off the ball.nostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2024 4:35pm Gave away a match costing free kick due to ill discipline and selfishness.
The port player hit Max with a wet lettuce leaf and Max was out of the contest. One of the softest challenges I have seen. Max must have realised and went after the next player.
He is in a bad place.
He needs to play up the ground. Get his hands on the ball. Take the pressure off.
At the moment he doesn't even attempt to stretch his arms out let alone challenge in the air. He actually avoids the situations where he should be challenging.
He isn't getting near the ball in the forward 50. Complete disaster. Embarrassing. and I think he knows it.
Therefore something has to change before it becomes so entrenched that it won't ever get better.
One other thing is that his brother is doing much better. But I actually don't really rate him either.

Re: Trade King
He probably did that as he was getting beaten and niggled at every opportunity behind play to damage his confidence as it's obvious he is apprehensive and fragile, but no excuses, as the club should be monitoring him very closely - surely this type of issue is under the radar of a professional AFL club at the highest level.Waltzing St Kilda wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2024 5:31pm That late hit, resulting in a Port free at crucial moment, was the last straw. I would hate to see another club do what is necessary to lift his confidence and strength and get a great player for peanuts. The current coaching staff must be blind to keep him in the team whilst he has completely lost the plot - it's gone beyond him holding down an opposition A grade backman down just to keep him in check.
Seb is well past his peak but does less damage from what I can see.

He doesn't look fit for mine ... unfittest player on the list
He needs to have a massive pre-season .... he needs to be flogged on the track and in the gym
Time for the baby giraffe to become a Bull .... maybe grow back the mo as well

Re: Trade King
Ironically
His twin - who was seen as the lesser player
Is averaging 3 goals a game and is a likely AA
He’s bigger, he leads, his team has a better system
