Umpires
Yep Windhagers 50 was correct according to usual umpire apologists on here. Gets paid every time.
North player takes a mark 65 out two Collingwood players chase and charge at him at least ten meters over the mark.
Umpire nothing to see.
It’s diabolically bad the biased and favouritism ti some sides.

Re: Umpires
It was a shocker
100% if they were Saints players a 50 would have been paid
But it will be ... nothing to see hear ... move along
Stillw waiting for the Brions player to be reported for his trip and be fined

I saw the maggots award 5 or 6 frees in a row to the filth in the 4th quarter just now to help them over the line against a gallant nth side.

It's a class system, if not cronyism.
Egalitarianism is stone cold dead.
Relies on brainwashing that there is "fair play" and honest mistakes even out. Tosh.

Re: Umpires
Love The Dud to justify it.
Clear view no other possible reason not to pay 50 other than bias.

Re: Umpires
From the Hun.
GAME SENSE
It’s almost become a weekly occurrence and we know the AFL will tick it off by the letter of the law but once again an inappropriate 50m penalty has to be called out.
At a crucial time in what had suddenly become an exciting final term on Friday night, the men in fluoro decided to put themselves into the game unnecessarily.
The Saints had kicked six of the first seven goals of the term and were flying at Brisbane when young Lion Logan Morris marked in the middle of the Gabba.
St Kilda midfielder Marcus Windhager was ahead of the play and then stepped in to take the mark. Technically he may have been a fraction of a second late and possibly from the wrong direction but at no time did it impact on what Morris was doing.
There was no attempt to waste time, to hold up Brisbane and his actions in now way were benefiting St Kilda, Windhager was just standing the mark.
Yet the umpire thought it was such a bad act, so detrimental to the game that the action warranted a 50m penalty.
Dale Thomas in the Ch 7 commentary box summed it up perfectly: “You would love the umpire to have a little bit more game sense.”
He didn’t and instead killed off what was looming as an exciting finish with Morris’ easy goal courtesy of the 50m penalty taking the air out of St Kilda’s tyres."

Re: Umpires
we got stiffed...it happens..it happens to all clubs..look at some of the crucial decisions that buried the Roos today.
I get it..we get it...for fear of ruining your apparent life long ambition to totally abolish umpiring maybe you need to relax and have a good rethink on your crusade
I've told you this before Curly..your life will be changed for the better.

Re: Umpires
Apropos of not much, re standing a mark, is it just "stand" or "stand and shut up"?
Notice Port players mouth off a lot on marks, try to distract.

Re: Umpires
It's the inconsistency that does my head in ... from game to game ... umpire to umpire in same game
I know umpiring isn't easy ... I have done it myself but at the moment the inconsistencies are glaring

Re: Umpires
Now turn your hearing aids up for this one Curly… ready… the umpires made… a mistake!
Believe it or not they do it every game!
Maybe the umpire was gun shy due to days of sooks whinging about correct 50m penalties being paid at the end of close games??
If you really want proof of umpires favouring Collingwood, just look at our game against them earlier this year… oooops!
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

Re: Umpires
Interesting to hear the debate fire up in the media today about raised knees in a contest...been saying it for a while now, significantly more head trauma ocurs in the game from legal acts than illegal ones.
Also. been saying the AFL know they have to outlaw the raised knee in a contest...it's going to happen, the only thing that is in dispute is when it will happen.

Re: Umpires
What a mockery!
Stand!
So the umpire didn't call stand so it wasn't a 50!
Imagine if that happened in the Grand Final.
She should keep her mouth shut.
Would stop her from eating those pork pies.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Umpires
The tribunal is not much better, Let Butters off on what was a clear case of striking. He actually punched Greene on the chin.

Re: Umpires
Keeps Port Power in the hunt to be competitive this year. They need at least one Adelaide club to compete in finals, seeing's though the Crows season is shot. $$$$$$$ it's all about the dollars and the ad revenue
