Re: Changes for next week
Cordy is an absolute spud.
Prefer Garcia to Jones who is a fumbling hothead.
Leave Campbell and Shoey in the side too.

Within a few moments of coming onto the ground, Towball gave away a free

Re: Changes for next week
Too many inconsistent efforts last night.
Depending on availability
Out - Clark, Ross, Jones
In- NWM, Sharman, Garcia
Henry to the midfield, Steele to the forward half

He's been very good since returning.

Hunter Clark (with no e)?
Personally, I feel he's added a bit of (much needed) class to our midfield.
There's no way I'd drop him.

Jones very rarely has a clean possession, even at Sandy. Also gives away a lot of freesWellardSaint wrote: βSat 15 Jun 2024 7:39amWithin a few moments of coming onto the ground, Towball gave away a free

Jones and Cordy, unfortunately for all, are now liabilities. Time has caught them.

Re: Changes for next week
Very good and what we need, but seriously needs time in the gym. Just doesn't have the strength and durability to match his talent
Re: Changes for next week
It is down to who becomes available, including by performance at VFL level today.
What we do know is that 27 will retain his position as a defender.
Then, if (all of) Wanganeen-Milera (automatic if available), Howard (automatic if available) and Webster (position under question) return that adds 3 more defenders.
So who goes where?
That we resorted to Caminiti back, looking for height, replacing the static Cordy and that we appeared to deploy Clark back to counter a Brisbane player puts questions on our defence.
So some players will be subject to review.
Noting that Marshall as a utility player appeared deployed to defence when not rucking.
So Campbell - a genuine workhorse who could have appeared on the scorecard if a mark had been paid (noting we goaled anyway no doubt to the chagrin of the AFL and their Umpires - the AFL are desperate to have a Queensland side active in September to compete with RL in RL heartland as we have seen over the last 2 weeks)?
The interesting one to me will be Keeler if he is fit today - because the concession with Caminiti and Marshall is that we lack height in defence, both Battle and Wilkie undersized.
And we come up against Port Adelaide - in Melbourne would you believe!
With Dixon?
Henry finding game fitness is a positive.
But there are some we need more from starting with the skipper who is struggling.

Re: Changes for next week
And in regards Clark, how much time has he spent on the sidelines due to injury and recovery from injury - including this season?
That he needs time in the gym to build strength and durability is uneducated nonsense of the first order.
Where has he spent most of his time recovering over recent seasons including this season?
It appeared to me that he was deployed back to counter a Brisbane threat - not that the idiots who wet their collective pants, forgetting to change hands at 99 "calling the game" would ever offer such commentary.

Re: Changes for next week
Agree. Appears plenty strong in the contest to me. Just because he doesn't look huge doesn't mean he lacks strength.Killa wrote: βSat 15 Jun 2024 12:32pm And in regards Clark, how much time has he spent on the sidelines due to injury and recovery from injury - including this season?

And neither should ever be selected to play for the firsts again.
Same for Members. Sebby is borderline.

Re: Changes for next week
What about the Pou? He returned good stats for Sandy in his last 2 games. Too soon?

Re: Changes for next week
Clark when fit and available is an automatic selection for me.
On limited time he has shown heaps since his return to the side and has been in the best players each game.
I thought he showed excellent strength breaking tackles so not sure about the extra gym time. But perhaps needs to up his fitness so his game time can be increased.

Re: Changes for next week
Probs too soon needs the rest of the year to develop.Looked solid though on the stream, still worried his first instinct is to slap the ball on the boot or hospital hand pass as soon as he enters traffic. With his size (albeit not with weight yet), I think he needs to be a guy that fights his way through contest, either by skill or brute force.Nick DalSanto Claus wrote: βSat 15 Jun 2024 6:10pm What about the Pou? Cordy Jones and Sebby out
NWM, Webster and The Pou in.
Hammer plays as permanent defender and both Pou and Owens play forward.

Re: Changes for next week
Clark went off with the concussion protocol so missed 20 minutes (although some of that may have taken in half time I think).
What about Stocker? What's happened to him?

Re: Changes for next week
Prefer Stocker ahead of Bonner.
Can't find a role for Zac Jones anymore.
Hope Shoenmaker stays in the team.
Wanganeen needs to come back.
Hopefully Phillipou finds his way back.
Campbell was good, but I'd like to give Heath a crack.
Cordy is a warrior, but again I'd rather develop a younger guy.
