Far too inconsistent. Often factually wrong. Some bordering on self important look what I can do stuff. Need to be absolutely certain of the appropriate degree of offence to give free kick/50 metre goals.

Re: Match Thread Brisbane V St Kilda
We were 35-40 points down at one stage
Was that because of the umpiring?

Re: Match Thread Brisbane V St Kilda
Best game of the year, it was great to see Campbell and Shoey finally get a game and both were good IMO.
Although I think the mids need to adjust to a ruckman who can actually tap the ball to their advantage.
Henry needs more time in the middle, as does Clark and Dow
King, Higgins and Owen’s combined well up forward and once we sped up the ball movement it allowed King to get some separation.
Camanetti actually looked ok down back
Butler (suspension) and Ross should make way for Crouch and Garcia

You must’ve missed his Dees game. Either gives up the Captaincy or
His body language is terrible .. I’m not unhappy if he goes elsewhere tbh. Prob an unpopular opinion.

Re: Match Thread Brisbane V St Kilda
So umpire will only give a warning to a player who was contesting and not players coming in after?
Is that actually in the rule book?

He’s tentative when marking. Doesn’t impose himself on the game. He lacks aggression. Won’t chase and tackle or put a heavy shepherd on. His second efforts are woeful.

More than ever now, umpires are influencing match outcomes and that's a sad indictment of what this game and competition has become.

Really like Hunter Clark's game...finished with 16 possessions but only 56% game time - doesn't have the tank yet to play more minutes?

The result I expected but a more watchable style of football, first quarter very loose. Nas and lose Jones and Ross things could be a bit more interesting.

They were good tonight and I guess that’s the difference between you and me. I can see the potential you simply want to concentrate on the negatives… i’m not happy with a loss, but I can appreciate improvement. They played bloody well tonight against a bloody good seasoned side I reckon will have a dip for the flag. We scared the s*** out of them.

Crouch’s knee is f***ed. Doubt he’ll play for a while.

I would say the rule book says nobody gets a warning.SaintPav wrote: ↑Fri 14 Jun 2024 11:34pmSo umpire will only give a warning to a player who was contesting and not players coming in after?

But if you’re chasing a leading player and can’t stop in time, common sense is used.

Re: Match Thread Brisbane V St Kilda
Wood stuffed up two certain goals in the first quarter which was unhelpful, plus he missed a couple more.

Totally agree. Had his chance again to go to the next level but couldn't. Daniher's game was significantly better and played a key role in their win.

Well, if we played that attacking, proactive style from the start of the game ... instead of the negative, reactive rubbish, we would have won this game.

What about when Lohman ran 30 meters with the ball after a clear free to us.
The umpire not only refused to pay 50 he was yelling don’t kick it don’t kick it.
What the f***
