Stolen by corrupt umpiring again
The 50m penalty awarded to brisbane at approximately the 7 minute mark was a classic case of the AFL mafia getting onto the phone to the umpires to get brisbane the win.
It completely broke our run.
Just so typical though as a saints fan.
Any other time of the game the umpire would have blown the whistle and allowed the saints player to move back on the mark, and not pay a 50.
End of rant

Wasn’t in the contest and chose to stand 5m over the mark

Re: Stolen by corrupt umpiring again
Did the umpire even call where the mark was ? Even so ,it was soulless decision that killed the game off

Re: Stolen by corrupt umpiring again
Centre bounces were not recalled when they went Brisbane's way. Recalled when it was to our benefit.
Agree with the above. They got some very ordinary ones (Rowan's block, Wilkie's out of bounds) .
Always in the forward line. Gifted a few goals

Re: Stolen by corrupt umpiring again
Reckon we were totally ripped off tonight.
Each time we were within striking distance, the umpire pulled a bulls*** momentum killer of a decision.
Corrupt, most likely. Perhaps just part of the script, a bit like the Washington Generals.

Re: Stolen by corrupt umpiring again
Why wasn’t it 50 when the Lions player gave the ball to Butler even though the free kick wasn’t his.

Re: Stolen by corrupt umpiring again
Butler was playing for that BUT he only gave it to Butler after the umpire told him 3 times to “give it up now”

Re: Stolen by corrupt umpiring again
So he gave the Brisbane player a warning then.
Right got it you can give warnings but the umpire chose not to give Windy one.

Like the 50 we got after Windy’s “dangerous tackle”
Learnt the rules yet?

Re: Stolen by corrupt umpiring again
The one I don't understand is our free kick in the first for the 6 6 6
But later Brisbane got warned for the same?

Ah, but the rules are whatever the umpire chooses them to be.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 15 Jun 2024 12:19amNo, because it was blatant.CURLY wrote: ↑Sat 15 Jun 2024 12:16amSo he gave the Brisbane player a warning then.

Re: Stolen by corrupt umpiring again
c'mon seriously, it was bulls***, like it is every week
I watch this thread every week as I do the empires
they love to intervene and add their own "spice' when a team has got a run on and momentum's up
They raise the bar and throw in their bit to f*** things up and see where it goes from there
Thats the reality of what they do - and they do it - and YES the AFL silently sanctions them to do it
Plenty of times we've responded and prevailed but equally they f*** us (and every other club) in varying / often predictable / calculated extents in doing so
Its mass entertainment, its always gonna be rigged and have bad guys treat the noble unfairly ... to an acceptable extent
to call it a conspiracy theory misses the whole point entirely

No, John Setka was quite specific.
Only the umpires boss.
Sacking all the umpires would be bullying.
