What gets me is you don't see players spinning the ball when taking kicks further up the field, only when taking a set shot for goal.

I don't ever remember Plugger needing to spin the ball.

Terrible miss by Bonner, though, if it was 50 metre penalty why wasn't it Owen's kick?
Actually thought that Bonner would have been better suited if the kick was 40-45 metres out.

It’s either downfield to where the free was given or a 50 from where the ball was being kicked, whatever the bigger advantage is. If the free to Owens was in the goal square, it would have gone to Owens there

Because Bonner was the one kicking it, the same as when someone is dumped after kicking it and goes to a player downfield, it basically becomes a team free rather than to the player who was infringed against

The team is going ok tonight. We missed a few easy chances and had a weird free kick played against us in relation to the 6-6-6 rule which I think should have been a warning rather than a free. We could have been only 11 or even only 5 points down at half time. The Lions are still displaying some of the problems they have shown all season. We could even come back in the second half. But it's a shame that Bonner missed that sitter.
