Wilkie

Freak!!!

Moved on to Ben King halfway through the first when Ben King had kicked a goal on Doogs

Kept him to 5 disposals and 1 goal after that!!!

Giving up 10cm and 10kg

Not sure how he actually does it?!

Probably as good as example of a team based, work together model that you’ll find taking nothing away from Wilkie’s performance

Completely slowed GC’s ability to move the ball with any degree of fluency, there were players in Bing’s way, little space for him to take advantage of and the occasional third man up.

Chocolates go to Wilkie but his team mates did him every favour

Correct skeptic. Wilkie is a gun no doubt but for mine it's a collective effort down back.

He's excellent 1 v 1. No doubt about it.

Sing it loud and sing it proud but most of all hang around for this club will rise to claim the prize and then we will realise its not such a surprise. :-)

Watch him closely, he moves like a "swarmer" style boxer, the hardest boxer style to reprodcuce, he can sustain a high level of concentration for longer and has an uber complementary athletic profile.

Wilkie should become the team skipper next year, he has probably been the best on field leader for quite a while.

He marshalls the back 6 incredibly well, and would do that all over the ground if given the role.

Conversely Jack Steele, while a fabulous player, does not seem to possess the personality to impose himself on the game the way good captains in successful teams do, whereas Wilkie looks to me like he does....

"Any candidate for political office, once chosen for leadership, must have the will to take the wheel of a very powerful car, tasked from time to time to make a fast journey down a narrow, precipitous mountain road – and be highly skilled at driving. Otherwise, he is disqualified from the company of competent leaders."

I think you're wrong

I think you don't watch games close enough

If you have time, watch the replay of the game this week or the win over West Coast from last week.

Have a look at how Steele directs his team mates. Have a look at the subtle looks and finger pointing.

I wouldn't have an issue if Wilkie took over, but I don't think it's going to happen because Steele is a good captain

You don't have to 'impose' yourself on anyone. He leads by example and leads with instruction when it's necessary
