But we won. And I think the free to King was clearly there. And GC got several dubious calls in the second half, so it all evens out.

Our team has some attacking potential, but our forward set up remains dreadful. Hence we continue to win games without reaching double figures in the number of goals we kick.

Should have put them away early, but ended up needing to get gifted 2 goals out of our 7 to win the game.

I think it’s a sign of how low the bar has fallen that supporters are happy with kicking 7 goals in a game against a poor defence.

Well we won but it was unwatchable at times

Kept the Suns to 13 shots at goal and really we should have won by 5 goals but some of our decision making and general skills you just want to rip your eyeballs out

As for the free kick to King well he gets held constantly and the free kick was clearly there

Great game by Sinclair

That's exactly how I saw it too. We were woeful again from the middle of the second quarter. Lucky to win in the end.

Watching the game live, it's apparent to me that our forwards are now the biggest issue. No leading, leading at the wrong time, leading to the wrong spots, not getting up the ground when required, not working for each other. This is Robert Harvey's domain and I'd have to say he's failing miserably in his role.

Butler and Higgins do so much right, but King, Caminiti and Membrey consistently get themselves in positions where they expect the kicker to kick the ball 80 metres.

See my take is the opposite. The commentary on us is correct… difficulties with ball transition and a dysfunctional forward line are definitely in play… but we also have an ability to bring good sides down. This should have been a comfortable win for GC - loaded team in form with no weaknesses across the line and we lost our key defender to the premier forward of the comp 15min into the first. And we’re out of form.

Not saying I’m happy with this but something is working

You can be happy with a win, but he knows he’s just taking the piss saying we had good skills and game style tonight! :D

With the most sincere of apologies to those who are looking at the finer points of the game in the pursuit of perfection, I actually like it when we compete hard ( which we did tonight ) and won ( which we also did tonight ).

Josh Battle showed again tonight how critical he is to the team. I absolutely do not understand the suggestion that we can let him go for an end-of-first rounder and be happy with that.

Jack Sinclair and his protege Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera were - once again - superb .

We look so much better when Butler and Higgins are up and about , as they were tonight . Five goals between them - and a fingernail ( was it ? ) away from a 6th- but also tackle and chase ( viz Butler’s two efforts in the last 30 seconds ) .

Clark and Dow - and a very disciplined Marcus Windhager- make the midfield more competitive.

Wood and Henry clearly are positives .

The tall forwards are obviously the main issue . Each of them had their moments, but we need at least one of them to stand up and grab a game.

No match day coaching can fix kicking at 60% efficiency. Our handball efficiency wasn't much better

Yep, those 3 are bordering on being spuds, unfortunately.

As the results are falling the simple fact is that the constant rule changes by the AFL have led to a contested, mauling, scragging game with no space conceded

What we saw tonight is what the code has evolved to

An out and out contest which means the little things such as Hunter Clark getting a hand in to disrupt and put the ball back into contest

The result therefore is everything

Given the loss of Howard early is was a commendable win

Now for next week

Is the kicking efficiency a product of the offensive system

We are always kicking to an outnumber

I haven't been able to check all the data, but I think it's our lowest winning score since 2010.

King free kick was just a tangle according to Ling but free kick against Henry which reversed Wood goal was there.

Exactly this. But I enjoyed the game and thought we were pretty good otherwise. Membrey is shot, Caminiti is green, and King just isn;t assertive enough.

All three games today were decided by dubious free-kicks in the dying minutes but i predict the King one is the one that will soak upo most of the media attention.
