King would dominate in a good team

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
He made a few obvious fkn moves
And we looked better
King would’ve kicked five and Barrass would’ve taken less intercept marks if King wasn’t injured

Who's he?
All I saw is a player struggle until he got a niggle and took himself off..he's a concern...just think a tough decision needs to be made...possible trade bait.
Value to date isn't enough for a 4DP.

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
Interesting that our ball movement and our team defense looks better without him though.
The thing people struggle with watching King is he picks and chooses. When he fights and works hard he is an all time great. When he doesn't he is still a star.

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
It was like someone sprayed some WD40 on the forward line after King went off, I'd take the way we played after King went off over his 2 goals and average stats any day of the week.
My clue will become widely accepted opinion quickly as its obvious King is holding us back. History proves it happens.

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
No matter what you say about Max - he always demands full attention from the oppositions best backman and Ben has had a few hoodoo periods in the past as well. Max just needs a good run to build his confidence. The players should be taught to only use Max when it's practical.

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
We overlook the easiest comparison to Max , his doppleganger Ben .
This season Max has played 8 of 12 games thanks to injuries .
Ben has played all 11 out 11 , 12 tomorrow.
Max has averaged 4 more kicks and 1 more handpass than Ben .
Ben is averaging 3 goals a game whilst Max 1.5 .
Is one better than the other or are they both nothing more than good ordinary players ?
With Max going off today , we probably wont see them on the field together next week .
Amazingly this is normal , One or the other is usually out injured when we play the suns.

The forwardline steps up when King is out.
It's the opposite of what you want from a good leader.
I don't know if that's something you can change in a player.

Elephants are not fragile.
Has there ever been a player more fragile than King.

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
Everyone gets excited as every now and then he takes a good contested mark.
Apart from that, he is an injury prone player who is very one dimensional. Instead of leading to the ball carrier, he leads out the back or to the boundary line nearly every time. If he does try to lead at the kicker, he rarely get separation on the key defender and often tries to mark on his chest.

and that's the bottom line

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
Shyte thread
Kings been battling well
Get sone decent midfield supply non issue
Guts is where we have work to do
We broke even at times today looked far more dangerous
King also looked good up the ground
Membrey to me isn’t a decent support act …
Watch Dogs with Ugle , Naughton allowing Darcy to get off the chain ..
king gets the best every week with no help
He’s fine

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
I can a feel a tony74 post about to emerge
It's going to say something like..."patients required. We haven't seen the best of Max King. 2026 will be his year."
Edit...no need. I see Teffers has done it for him

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
Forward lines often improve when a star full forward is missing -- think Adleiade in the '97 GF.
For that matter, when Plugger was with the Saints I think we won more games without him (at least in his final copule of years).
But it's a temporary illusion because the opposition just isn't used to the new format. IMax has been disapponting this season, possibly due to a lingering injury issue, but it'd be another illusion to think we'd be better without him.

Can’t really blame him for having someone land on his knee as he was trying to mop up another horrible kick from Bonner

Speaking of Bonner his speed is substandard
He is a plodder
Don't see him in our best 22

Did Ross get sick at half-time and Corey took over coaching?
I was at the game but not paying attention at the 3 qtr-time break, to our huddle.
But Boris did the presser post-game.
If Boris coached the 2nd half, then maybe RTB changes job duties to 'Director of Coaching' like Mark Williams is doing, and Richo is doing at Dees.
Because Boris has been an assistant for ages and maybe time to be promoted.
Boris moved Windy onto Reid.
Boris got us to play with dare, flair, and gay abandon
I vote for Boris to be our senior coach.
Prove me wrong
