Back to the highlights...Mason Wood is having a cracking game!
Hunter has been looked good, Henry is slowly improving, hope he gets back to full potential

That's the Jack Steele we love.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

For a 14 point win against last years wooden spooners and one of three clubs below us on the ladder?
Some reasonable match day changes in the middle of the game but the games are won and lost with coaching well before the first bounce.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 12 2024
I know! Gone are the days where a full forward would visciously rip ya tits off to get the Sherrin after leading 278 metres running through barbed wire...now we have to hit him on the chest with a bubble wrapped ball. Wish the spirit of Hall & G Train could enter King.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 01 Jun 2024 8:12pmInjured trying to mop u rubbish delivery.SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Sat 01 Jun 2024 8:10pmHe's off alright...oh you mean his knee.
Such potential but all we can do is make excuses for his performances....
Injured
Might be injured
Was injured
Thought about getting injured
Still recovering from being injured
Double teamed
Poor incoming ball delivery
Coach is forcing him to play heartless, passionless, behind defenders, never lead, dont jump, dont mark, dont defend, dont tackle, dont chase, no fire to win, no energy...
On and on.
He can play, damn amazingly.
But alas, 5 years in and I'd say hope is waning.

If anyone thinks that was even a decent coaching performance
Has no idea about footy
The poor match ups in the first half
The system
The slowness of the moves
Embarrassing

Anyway, for a struggling team, a win is a win.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

I don’t think that was a good performance
Beating a bottom 3 team by 2 goals
You may like it, easily pleased Saints supporter
Me - I thought it was a shitfull effort - especially from the box

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 12 2024
The moves were good, but they took too way long to be made and should have been part of the plan at the first bounce. It’s not like we didn’t know Reid was a gun, Sinclair is better at half back and windy is not a forward. Game would have been over at half time against a better team. Anyway, happy we got a win but does not fill me with any sort of confidence.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 12 2024
At least we demonstrated we made an effort but giving credit to the coach when the moves he made should have been in place from the start. It's as if he had never heard of Harley Reid before, and even after the players were told to lower their eyes going into goal it's so very obvious the long bomb is still automatic - what the hell to they train for during the week. Nevertheless it was a good win and thanks to the players for their effort this week.
