Re: President needs a new letter
Needs to explain how the club intends to overcome the impossible challenge of bringing in talent when even with a high pick in a draft, GCS, GWS, Sydney and Brisbane have the first 25 picks on a yearly basis.

No player will want to come to us unless it's for bags of cash.
Like the old days when we were a retirement facility for ex Carlton players.

Re: President needs a new letter
The absolute worst time to be at the bottom of the ladder, GCS have 9 accademy players to pick next season...and that's just the GC, GWS, Sydney, and Brisbane got the same perk.
And that's even before Tasmania come in.
We don't stand a chance.
Don't be a moron and blame the coach....the wrong target.
The wrong target, I implore all members to get in contact with Bassett and ask him to lobby the AFL to get this issue addressed.
We will never get the talent we need under the current system

It's why members need to encourage him to make more noise about it...Waltzing St Kilda wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2024 9:01pmActually, Bassett has alreday been very vocal about this issue, to the chargrin of the northern sides.Vortex wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2024 8:05pm The absolute worst time to be at the bottom of the ladder, GCS have 9 accademy players to pick next season...and that's just the GC, GWS, Sydney, and Brisbane got the same perk.

Bassett has apparently pissed a few off in HQ and northern states cause he is making noise behind the scenesWaltzing St Kilda wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2024 9:01pmActually, Bassett has alreday been very vocal about this issue, to the chargrin of the northern sides.Vortex wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2024 8:05pm The absolute worst time to be at the bottom of the ladder, GCS have 9 accademy players to pick next season...and that's just the GC, GWS, Sydney, and Brisbane got the same perk.

They’ve all clearly got no idea what they are doing.Teflon wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2024 10:40pmPretty ordinaryAnnoyedsaint wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2024 9:51pm I’m wery sowwy. In Woss we twust and will continoo to twust the pwocess.

Whether you like it or not, image is a big thing and he sounds like there’s something wrong when he speaks.
Absolute laughing stock and should be thinking about tendering his resignation given the nonsense he’s gone with over the last 3 years.
Or, he actually takes it to the AFL, gets the members behind him about how rigged the system is (only thing I agree with him on). You’re a CEO of an ASX company that you founded…..how about acting like one instead of a dimwitted silent director.
Shane Warne would have made a great President in his older age because he wouldn’t take any garbage and would call a spade a spade.

Re: President needs a new letter
Yeah GC will have be able to draft 5/6 top 25 picks every two years for the foreseeable future. The game has exploded in that region and at least at grass roots level is far bigger and more participated in than league.Vortex wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2024 8:05pm The absolute worst time to be at the bottom of the ladder, GCS have 9 accademy players to pick next season...and that's just the GC, GWS, Sydney, and Brisbane got the same perk.

He will though when members disappear next year and they start begging for them to stay on board.
Bet he didn’t think that through when arguing we need more MCG games and less AFL help as a trade off.
This guy is running us into the ground and beating his chest about it!
