Gawn 8 StKilda 10
How does this happen?
First half lead was set for Melbourne due to 3 appalling non calls
Yet they find 7 frees for Gawn.

1)Because Marshall is a utility who is trying to neutralise opposition ruck and then act as spare midfielder.
2) because the AFL is afraid of the juggernaut we may become and has instructed umpires to cheat against us!

What the hell is a utility?
Is it 1975 and Marshall is on a Scanlons Footy Card
He is 201cm ruckman
Gawn is a 208cm AFL superstar

Not a tap ruckman's bootlace, like his endeavour but the constant wrestling to turn it into a ground ball doesn't work against the best.
Have they considered giving King or Howard a run in the ruck?

Yes, but our genius coaches are too stubborn to recognise this.
Campbell couldn't have possibly done worse today!

Re: Gawn 8 StKilda 10
The only way to out reach someone who is significantly taller is to out jump them or to push them with your body (not hands) away from the ball drop. Jason Blake was able to out ruck most of the best ruckman who were taller than him for short periods. Jumping takes energy. So, two or three against Gawn might have been used. Was Hayes injured? If not, I can't figure out why Caminiti is playing and Hayes is not. Caminiti is no good. He can't ruck and is so slow on a lead that an opponent can start a metre behind and end up a metre in front. He is about half fit, something he needs to massively improve upon if his AFL career is to go much further. Max King needs to stand up and do a bit a ruck work as well.

Marshall fought it out all day, but got his arse handed to him.

Hayes didn't play VFL it seems and someone here reported fluid in his knee. Wasn't on the injury report though so not 100% sureperfectionist wrote: ↑Mon 27 May 2024 9:32am The only way to out reach someone who is significantly taller is to out jump them or to push them with your body (not hands) away from the ball drop. Marshall slaughtered Briggs only a month ago.

Briggs was injured (shoulder). But yes that was a very good game from Rowan.
