We look so much better going thru the middle instead of bombing long down the line off halfback.Bruce G McAbee wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2024 5:33pm Instead of having a long drawn out post. I have watched the same thing from St.Kilda for 10 years. We win the ball on half-back but have no one forward of the ball to kick it to.
What happens, we kick it directly to a defender, or put ourselves under pressure and make terrible skill errors, it's been our problem for a long time.
However, the last half of that quarter was much better and it was great to see Max take two good contested marks and kick 2 goals.

We have a few more problems than what you have pointed outBruce G McAbee wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2024 5:33pm Instead of having a long drawn out post. I have watched the same thing from St.Kilda for 10 years. We win the ball on half-back but have no one forward of the ball to kick it to.

the way we move the ball is haphazard. We need stronger bodies down that middle and that’ll happen later when they build muscle in the gym but at the moment we can’t run with the ball and move freely.
Like other teams, Melbourne are muscling us off the ball

If you haven't looked, Membrey has kicked 6 and Hotton 5 for Sandy.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

True Fireman, there are more problems than I have pointed out, but hell, we really should have someone staying forward of the ball, other teams seem to do it and they score.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Today also highlights that we desperately need a ruckman to help Rowan out.
I really wish we made a play for Grundy.

As others have said watching Sandy has often been more enjoyable than watching the Saints this year

Re: Match Day Demons v Saints
This is going to be controversial but Steele needs to be relieved of the Captaincy, he's part of our midfield problem, he's Seb Ross 2.0.
He also just doesn't do anything to get his team going, even King shows more emotion after kicking a goal and that's saying something.
See that brew ha ha at half time, who was the first in waving the flag....Wilkie.
Higgo gets crunched by May and not one player remonstrated, that's what Steele should have done.
Steele is part of the problem....leadership nothing.and is an average midfielder.

You know you are in trouble when you start worrying about leaders for your poor performances

Agree, Marshall usually relishes these challenges though but has looked well off today unfortunately
