Pou in, then out, makes me think the coaches aren't on the same page re Pou.
He needed to stay in the Zebs for a few more games.

Collard before Crouch n Clark and the coaches have more hope in a teen?
The two Cs must be underdone, still proppy ?

Clark copping the Ball/Billings treatment?
I don't think they like guys who are constantly injured!

Very underwhelming .... maybe they want Sandy to win a Premiership

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
The numbers will be trimmed back to 23
That said, I can only assume that 100% fitness is the requirement so players like Crouch and Clark who have been absent will need a conditioning block ahead of selection
And with both Wood and Henry struggling given their long term absences we do not need more under done players
We can only look for those at Sandringham to keep the pressure on - noting that lack of numbers has not seen this circumstance this season until last week
Our record at the MCG has not been too bad over recent seasons (even against GWS)

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
Team selection is absolute garbage.
How does Hugo Garcia not get game when he was voted by the commentators as best on ground in the Sandy game but Ryan Byrnes gets NAMED ON GROUND and he was garbage in the 2s - kept turning over the ball, panicking with disposal, no run and dash.
Need Hunter Clark in the midfield - how many games does he need to play? Bloke was breaking tackles and wasn’t on managed minutes.
Jack Hayes had a great game in the 2s and yet Cooper Sharman keeps getting named and he hasn’t done anything since the prelim final last year. What about giving Allison a try with his 5 goal haul?
WHAT THE FVCK IS ROSS THE BOSS DOING?

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
I don't hate Crouch and Clark spending more time in the VFL especially if we're not playing finals this year. No point rushing them back in.
Dropping Pou this week makes bringing him in last week even more bizarre.
I would have liked to have seen Garcia get a recall personally. Byrnes in is just... I don't even know what the plan is there. VFL form has been poor.

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
They must be, otherwise I don't see how at least one doesn't come in. I would assume Collard, Sharman and Patton don't make the bench and Jones is the sub.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Thu 23 May 2024 7:47pmCollard before Crouch n Clark and the coaches have more hope in a teen?

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
Terrible selections this week, not the INs that I was expecting - Crouch and Clark should have been in. We're just shuffling the deckchairs around on the Titanic - hopefully Ross comes in with a more attacking game plan rather than the crap we've witnessed lately; 6 or 7 goals won't win you a game of footy

Byrnes selection has me stumped
A run with role? Sub?
We have Wood & Wilson running the wings

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
Actually Richmond were pathetic last week so ok to leave Garcia
But I’d have liked to see Crouch - unless injured
I’m no fan of Seb …need to move on
Clark / Crouch to help mids I’d have expected
But meh ..
Better get top 3 pick for this

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
Uninspiring
Underwhelming
Ryan Byrnes
2 weeks ago worst on ground vs Box Hill
Last week just OK vs a woeful Richmond VFL

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
Agree with your first two points but you're missing a key point on Byrnes, the VFL game is on the same day.
Byrnes won't play at either level. Extended bench selected to allow players with more upside to play VFL.
Edit: Just checked the team and he's named on the field. I'm flabbergasted.

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
clearly there is specific things which players must improve on at Sandy because after watching Sunday surely Garcia should be in.
Crouch and even clark perhaps due to injury history need to build a fitness base?
Emerg to me should be
Bonner , Sharman, Jones , Paton
Sub either Ross or Collard
