Next week's headline
I think Melbourne are a shambles
I realise we are longshots but I feel we can win this, especially with May out of form and Lever missing
Are the media going to focus on Melbourne and how the wheels have fallen off, or will they say the Saints aren't as bad as everyone was making them out to be?
One thing is for sure. They won't be saying we have
a talented list with some great players with big hearts....will they?

I'm really looking forward to team selection now that we have a full list available.

Re: Next week's headline
I hope we show some good signs. The players have good memories from the last time they were on the MCG…plus
Something stinks at Naarm. I’m not saying I’d tip us or wager any money that we’ll win
I’m just saying that if we win, that I hope like hell that our players are celebrated rather than the coach getting all the credit

Re: Next week's headline
If someone's analysis of our list changes after 1 win, then that's some toenail deep analysis.
I think Melbourne have enough in midfield to really open us up and they'll be smarting after losing the West Coast so will come out hot.
The only thing I know is that my read on Lyon/club direction/list doesn't hinge on 1 game against a team that's much, much further along in their development than us.

Re: Next week's headline
We know how this goes.
Melbourne kick the first four goals.
We chip away but still go into half time 20 points down.
We win the third quarter, get close.
Then fade away in the final term, losing 71 to 52.
We surprisingly break even in the clearances but take just 6 marks inside 50.
The headlines ignore our youthful line up, continue to compare us against 2023's over achievement.

Re: Next week's headline
Our backline will do what they do best, trying to stop the tide.
Oliver will get 38 touches.
The Tracc will remind us about our huge error in picking Paddy Mac, while giving our mids a front-row seat to a 'bull in a china shop' as he leads Windy and Steele a merry dance on his way to 10 coaches' votes.
The big sulk who wears #12 will clock up 3.5 kms of half-hearted jogging (he'd move faster on the golf course) on his way to kicking 1.3 (and 3 OOF)
Butler will think he's playing under-12s again by trying dinky tricks.

Nine would probably do it for the Dees.
Our last two scores...
8.7.55
7.11.53
Our last two scores vs Melbourne...
8.10.58
8.7.55

Bump
Early in the game (start of 2nd quarter) but I'm calling it.
This could spell the end of Goody's coaching career
...sidenote...Darcy Moore's knee into Petracca's ribs. And why not?! It's the only legal way these days
Collingwood players like to physically hurt the opposition.

However Scollop, he is a wonderful public speaker, so I guess that will give him brownie points ???

He's preparing for life after footy where he'll need to spin the usual corporate speak wank
No doubt he'll be a wonderful director, collecting a salary from a string of board rooms
