Re: MCG Saints
Pure deflection story from The Age. ... post a story that can try and capture and retain the interest of St Kilda supporters. Frankly Jake I don't care where they play or where we are based , just win !
So on this week's "Real Footy" podcast Matthew Stokes in place of Caro et al.
St Kilda have fallen to bits. The issues are depressing and relate to personnel. Contrast with Geelong who have had Premierships and Finals galore. They have just been paying players to cover up the cracks in their list by overpaying players who are realistically B or C graders
“I'm not too sure what they do” Target players who in all likelihood don’t want to come to St Kilda.
Lets discuss these issues!!!!

Premierships galore? One flag in the last dozen years, albeit what I'd love, is not "premierships galore".kell wrote: ↑Tue 21 May 2024 12:46pm Pure deflection story from The Age. ... post a story that can try and capture and retain the interest of St Kilda supporters. And finals? I think you'll find St Kilda has more recently played finals than Geelong has.

Re: MCG Saints
A worthwhile initiative, we need to play less under a roof and be more balanced in terms of our experience and resilience when not playing under a roof, which is every ground in the AFL except for Docklands.

I hate shared grounds. Jealous of the Cats in that regard.

I don't, I am old and soft and don't mind admitting it.
I can drive my car into the carpark under Marvel, go up to my seat, watch the game, and head straight back down to my car, and never have to face the elements.

I prefer Marvel
Better viewing more comfortable and atmosphere is better
30 000 at the G is not great

Re: MCG Saints
Good move
Might as well get used to playing there
It'll be good practice for when we finally make another GF

Re: MCG Saints
Could make good money with bigger crowds when playing the well supported teams but they would drown us out on our home games though.

Re: MCG Saints
As a country member coming down for home games by train, hopefully with grandchildren, Marvel is ideal. That the draw and travel times has limited their attendance to one game so far this year. There will be several more opportunities after the bye. More games at the G would mean I would need to save 3k and give up our ultimate memberships. We could stay overnight in town, or travel home arriving in the early hours of the morning. We could watch the games in 4K on the TV and save money by having cheaper country memberships

Re: MCG Saints
Essendon, Richmond, Collingwood players seem to be bragging about how playing for those clubs provides unique experiences such as ANZAC day clash and Dreamtime at the G. I'd like to suggest to the AFL those games be played between teams in the top 4 at the end of the previous season and not limited to Kevin Sheedys nominees. Sharing and reward for performance. Anyway, that's my suggestion. Big clubs don't need more gifted favours and it's supposed to be an eclectic comp. Supposed to be.

ANZAC Day should be two highest place Victorian teams from the previous year
