Pick 3 in the draft
After watching WC tonight
We have that to look forward to
Only Richmond and North are worse

Re: Pick 3 in the draft
Well North don't need mids so we should get a beauty.
Also no Thursday or Friday matches and few Saturday evening games.
Unfortunately it also means a game at Mt Barker, about 8 interstate fixtures and no mercies from the MRO and umps. Character building.

Re: Pick 3 in the draft
Are there any back flankers rated in the top 8 in this years draft ?
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Just hope we go to the draft and don't squander our picks on securing (and overpaying) some mercenary.

Give me Mt Barker over the Norwood Oval oblong anytime. At least Mt Barker is a proper sized football ground.

Seems almost like a controlled tank if there is such a thing.
Eyes on top 3 pick and another with a FA compo pick.for Battle.

Re: Pick 3 in the draft
Would you be happy with a 2nd round pick for Battle?
The odds of a 2nd rounder being at his level is 3-1 imo
Prefer to keep him - draft picks mean FA
Look at Geelong and Norrh

Re: Pick 3 in the draft
I am not sure Battle wants to stay as he has had a offer on the table for some time now and hasn't resigned.
Also a few teams are very keen on him with some big offers.
If it helps us getting another good pick let him go we have a few to slot in there in Ari,Cordy,Keeler Van es so I am not that worried.

As long as Shiel is thrown in and Essendon also get back our compensation pick

Re: Pick 3 in the draft
Battle worth the same as McKay..
Also, we will offer him more than what we would offer Gresham... we wont let Battle leave unless he is getting paid a lot.
Basically, I doubt we let him leave unless we get Band 1...
Gresham, we really did not want him and were happy with band 2

Re: Pick 3 in the draft
Battle is arguably one of our most important players without question. Can't see him going anywhere, in fact I'm sure of it.

Don’t know about that - Billings, McCartin, Clarke and Coffield - all taken in the top 10.
Name the last first round selection that yielded us a standout players.

Re: Pick 3 in the draft
My point is that we’ve played for high picks in the past and made a meal of it.
Playing for high picks is poor management, especially when it’s a lottery after pick 1 anyway.
Bad management is bad management
