Are happy with Euro-Yuroke name change
St.Kilda is St.Kilda.
Seems like another populist drive by AFL and saints are gullible to rhetoric .
Most clubs seen thru this charade have resisted namely Coll, Carl, Syd, GWS, Bris, North, Lions, Rich, Suns, Cats, Hawks
Lets focus on getting our team better rather that jumping at social shadows

Re: Are happy with Euro-Yuroke name change
I don’t mean to be rude… we already had this discussion… it devolved and ended up locked.
Then we had the follow up thread which is in the animal enclosure.
Not criticising the OP, as not everyone reads every thread but rather than going down that path again…
You can check it out here and I’m going to lock this in a moment

I'm more worried about an inept performance than a token temporary name change. It's along the same lines as those precious about jumpers. Prison bars anyone?

Re: Are happy with Euro-Yuroke name change
There is value in a name. Brand is everything.
That is why the big names don't cheapen themselves for cheap gimmiics.
Go woke go broke.
The purple hair they/thems applaud the decision. (Yet to see one at a game however)

I think it's ok to respect the Indigenous name so yeah it's a good thing.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Yep. Does nothing for branding whatsoever.
Everyone in two weeks won’t even remember any of the names (made up by the way).
Just so a few can feel warm & fuzzy and think it actually means anything. It does zilch, nada, zero for anyone.

Re: Are happy with Euro-Yuroke name change
Eddie Betts was calling them St Kilda & Freo two minutes after the game.
Just about sums it up.
St Kilda supporters are pretty dumb though, so the AFL chooses us as it’s moral compass club
How long before Palestine gets a run on game day?
(I wish i was joking…)

Re: Are happy with Euro-Yuroke name change
Big names like West Coast, Port. Adelaide, Melbourne?
I’m not sure if it’s relevant but he/him what’s left of my hair is mostly grey. Regular attendee at games.
And I support the temporary name change.

Re: Are happy with Euro-Yuroke name change
Shut it down skeptic.
As funny as it is to see all poor souls with brain worms come out to try to make up reasons for how it might impact on field performance or how it offends the heart of the club or whatever, the reality is it is a nice way to show some respect to indigenous players that also might make the afl and the club a few extra dollars in merch.
Euro-Yroke can't hurt you guys, it just might make your kids concerned you are spending too much time on Facebook

Re: Are happy with Euro-Yuroke name change
How about a warrior or fierce creature name/description to compliment the place name.
And tell you what was great, the didgeridoo playing.
If that could be a regular part of the players entering the field atmospherics, terrific.
Imagine, if it is possible, few bars of Oh when the Saints on a didgeridoo. Great fusion of cultures. I think.

A huge Saint supporter (@shaebee22 on Twitter) goes to every single game, including all interstate games.
45 yr member or some huge number.
Purple hair/pink hair.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.
