The game plan stinks. How the f*** can you kick 8 goals and expect to win. We are sadly lacking in defence.

Re: Match Thread - Saints V Freo
I'm starting to worry about next year already. This team is being slowly drained of all dare and creativity. Like a boa constrictor strangling itself. 12 fewer scoring shots has disguised a thumping from a team that probably won't make the 8.
We've become almost impossible to watch. It's torture having to watch us play like this. We showed last year that we're way better than this. Why have we regressed so badly?

Name the last first round pick since Riewoldt we turned into anything meaningful? The Fireman wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2024 11:07pmWell, we are clearly a bottom four side so why not tank?
We couldn’t even get our last pick 1 right in the Petracca draft.

I think only Marshall holds his head up
Insipid and should’ve lost by 10 goals
Oddly to half time felt like we had more of the play …just can’t score
We turn it over out of back half weekly
Drop chest marks
Players who ALL run at the tackle ….leave an opponent spare, free to walk by away with ball??
Handballs to guys about to be tackled …
WTF is that shyte?
Even AFTER ball was brought back, touched on line… we turned it straight over??
Lyon has work to do - I’m afraid cuddly Ross needs to start by culling in the box
Harvey , Goddard must go - both have proven they ain’t up to it
Its also time to seriously cut the deadwood, unskilled cr@p from this list and stop pretending we can finish 10th

No run again ... just static .... can't move the ball
When we do ... we run ourselves into trouble
Not sure what our gameplan actually is

Re: Match Thread - Saints V Freo
What did Philipou do at Sandy that warranted selection?
He was horrible. Steele played a shocker, Jones hardly touched it, King tried. It seems to me that Lyon hasn't got the game plan to get the best out of this group.

Marshall's games are less effective than they appear on the stats sheets.Teflon wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2024 11:14pmYepsilverhalo wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2024 11:09pm Doesn't matter how many changes we make this week, it's just shuffling the deckchairs around on the Titanic - just don't have the depth

Should be working on giving first use to the midfield instead of just hacking it forward himself.

Wood ran off his line. The umpire called play-on. I could hear the call in Perth. Wood had no peripheral vision.

100% and Ratten said the same and St.Kilda Board didnt like it, so they sacked him.

Out of Cooper Sharman and Mattaes Phillipou...who would you say has better form? Who has better touch? Obviously it's Cooper.
Why take the guy off who has better form?
Sharman is a guy who gets taken off after half time, so the Lyon devotees (and the Sharman critics) will tell you it's logical.
NO IT'S NOT!!
I have gave RL plenty of slack but he is now taking the p*ss, surely.

If Ross Lyon wasn't available they wouldn't have sacked Ratten.
Apparently Ross is going to take us to our next Grand Final

Just on that - they are player issued - not match day jumpers - you can bid on a Max Heath Jumper.sendmehomehappy wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2024 11:10pm There's a live auction for the used game jumpers.

Yes, hard to criticise Marshall who gives 100% and has been almost permanently in the best players, but imo your statement is true.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2024 11:19pmMarshall's games are less effective than they appear on the stats sheets.Teflon wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2024 11:14pmYepsilverhalo wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2024 11:09pm Doesn't matter how many changes we make this week, it's just shuffling the deckchairs around on the Titanic - just don't have the depth

The take out of the ruck should be a surprise weapon - not a go to move - it implies he does not trust the midfield (perhaps rightly so)takeaway wrote: ↑Sun 19 May 2024 11:19amYes, hard to criticise Marshall who gives 100% and has been almost permanently in the best players, but imo your statement is true.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2024 11:19pmMarshall's games are less effective than they appear on the stats sheets.Teflon wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2024 11:14pmYepsilverhalo wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2024 11:09pm Doesn't matter how many changes we make this week, it's just shuffling the deckchairs around on the Titanic - just don't have the depth
