Get him off the last line. Put Owens deep. We are just lazily bombing it in there.Bruce G McAbee wrote: ↑Sat 11 May 2024 3:53pm King can't hold a mark, what's the point of having him there.

Good news defensive structures are mostly holding up well, in the air we are class above. At ground level though that is the worst half we have put together under Ross Lyon. Fortunate to be just 2 goals down.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
One inside 50 to our advantage that quarter.
One.
That’s 4 out of 24 for the game. Pathetic.
2 instances stood out, Sinclair on a centre break running forward just bombed it on top of Membrey’s head. Wilson running forward under no pressure with plenty of space and targets forward kicks it straight to the bloke standing in front of King.
2 weeks in a row we’re in an arm wrestle with a bottom 4 team, which probably says it all about where we’re at.

Yep I’ve seen enough now to confidently say our season is over we are not making finals (win or lose today). Always next year…The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 11 May 2024 3:57pm One inside 50 to our advantage that quarter.

King isn’t to blame, is working hard but getting nothing from our mids. They’ve hit up the bloke standing in front of him plenty of times!

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
Seb Ross - just kick n hope shyte
Marshall - take out bombs from ruck AlWAYS to opponents advantage
Kicking inside 50 just luck crsp - never to our forward advantage
Fumbles, slow build ups …struggling to get it out of D50
This is deplorable Shiit
Against a bottom 4 Hawks side missing their best player??
This is poor

King needs to fkn get in front of his opponent instead of looking for cheapies out the back
Midfield is a horror show
It is obvious their game plan is about small forwards

4 goals in a half against a bottom 4 team is pathetic.
We don't look like scoring.

We're just playing kick to kick with too many not playing with anywhere near as much desperation as the Hawks. Take the` game on more and demonstrate that you really want to win.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
King has been woeful
Plays from behind and is fkn timid
The hawks were rouging him up at quarter time because they know how physically and mentally soft he is
He didn’t even give a whimper - just copped it
Love to see what Lockett, Ablett, Brereton, Carey or any great power forward would do in that situation
He is pretty much the opposite to the great key forwards - he’s timid
Needs a fkn rocket

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
He is in front of his direct opponent, they’re just getting a player to drift in front and cut off the inevitable poor kick.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
Accept we are bottom 4
Get the draft picks
Hawks are already ahead of us ….West Coast soon
Enough of these honourable 9-10th placed finishes Shiit
No one gets rewarded for that
FFS Owens is not a full time forward
And move past Seb Ross - he’s a **** crab

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
What do you love about our game plan Teffers?
The fact we kicked 1 goal in a half vs a depleted Richmond
Or 4 goals in a half vs a depleted Hawthorn
We are a terrible team to watch
No flow, no run, no fluid ball movement

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
I blame Max King atm
He should win the ruck , run forward kick to himself and mark in goal square
When ball comes to ground King should be crumbing and tackling
And at half time he hasn’t even chopped 1 orange
I’d trade him

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
We need give Tim a rest and bring Coops back in- usually looks more like he is going to kick a goal and tries to take a few screamers. Very unimpressed with King and Hayes as well today- letting the Hawks dictate the play.
