Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Roos
Is Membrey untouchable? Clearly past his best.
Phillipou a mile off younger players Wilson and Harley Reid.
Clearance player Owens being wasted as a forward --- why?
Bonner, Webster and Hiill can all be relied upon to turn it over at least once a game.
Wood and Hayes suprisingly good.

Who do you think?
For me Garcia, Byrnes, bonner, pou, membrey & hastie are probably the six that will need to fight hard for selection over the next month with all the inclusions returning. Howard could also make way for Cordy, although I doubt it.

Howard was decent today.with no crazy brainsnaps
A few players still a bit rusty and will be better for the run

Probably rest a Garcia or Hastie for Henry
I’d like to see Shoenmakers for Bonner but not sure they’d do it
If Dow performs he has to be considered…Steel needs help
Be great to have some pressure for spots
I’d have rested Marshall today …maybe next week?

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Roos
With Henry Hunter Crouch still to come back and also Zones finding some form at Sandy ... there is a nice injection of mid experience just around the corner
Very possible we can win 4 out of next 5 ... which will have us 7&6 and over 100% ... with a nice Marvel run in the 2nd half of the season
We will continue to fly under the radar which is fine by me

First game after a long break, didn't expect much.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Roos
I suggest the following.
1. Henry to high half forward. Hill to wing. Hastie to Sub. Byrnes out.
2. Dow ( if plays well today) to midfield. Sinclair to defence. Bonner out.
3. We are carrying too many tall forwards, especially with Hayes having such a good game. One of Mattaes ( the most likely candidate) , Membrey and King out. As to who replaces him, let’s see who shines for Sandy today.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Roos
Garcia has had a few solid games, but can make way for more experienced players.
Byrnes sadly back to VFL
Hastie needs a full match at least
This makes room for Dow and Henry
What do you do with Clark? Caminiti? Sharman? Higgins? Paton?

Maybe that's true with Hayes, but not Wood.Waltzing St Kilda wrote: ↑Sun 05 May 2024 8:39amFirst game after a long break, didn't expect much.
Hayes showed in that game why he is so important to our structure.
He's a target up front, a relief ruckman, and a cool head. Immensely more valuable than both Caminiti and Sharman.
We just need King to find form now.
