Re: Team v Roos
Our hyped up 28-year-old 6 game player Jack Hayes is back. Geez looks they are desperate!
What is he our 29th best player on the list?
Membrey on shaky ground.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Team v Roos
I'm surprised about Hayes though...
Yes, he played well for Sandy, but I thought Ross n the other coaches were reluctant to drop anyone

Re: Team v Roos
Hopefully Hayes will be able to help Marshall out in the ruck a bit better than Caminiti.
We haven't got a recognised small forward though.

Think of me long enough to make a memory.
Re: Team v Roos
Are we a bit too tall ? Both our small forwards are out so I thought Collard would come in. The ball might come out of our forward half too easily (like usual) if it hits the deck. I love Hayes but his selection says Marshall is missing ??

Re: Team v Roos
Sharman has put in some poor efforts recently. Not surprised he's been dropped. Hayes will give us the vigorous contest that Sharman doesn't. Caminiti a bit stiff, but that shoulder of his may be hindering him a bit.
Nice to see Angus Hastie on a wing. Clearly the coaches like what they've seen. We still have 7 players aged 21 or younger in that team
Steele is a worry with that knee issue. I hope we're not risking further injury with him.
In a the next three weeks Dow, Henry and Clark will become available. Desperately needed help for our sluggish midfield.

Re: Team v Roos
Sharman stiff. He would have a field day against the Kangaroos.
No Dan Butler, No Jack Higgins and we’re not replacing them with a crumbing forward
Are they expecting Hayes, Membrey and King to be clunking everything that comes their way?
I suppose they could…it’s North that we’re up against
Pou and Darcy need to be at the bottom of packs winning loose ground balls.
Hopefully Michito Owens kicks a bagfull. I’m confident he’ll have a huge day

Re: Team v Roos
Bit of a different look to the forward half, i don't mind it, some of the other forward combos tried so far
weren't up to par, let's see how this mix goes against a very ordinary Norf defence.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Like the changes. Couple of key guys back. Let’s hope it’s the beginning of a turnaround in our fortunes

Re: Team v Roos
Given that he’s not in great form… and I know it’s already a younger team, but I’d have pbly dropped Membrey and given Collard a go… or if Steele’s knee isn’t markedly better than perhaps rest him and have Sinclair play in the middle.

Re: Team v Roos
Hayes for Caminiti
Wood for Sharman
Webster for Cordy
King for ... Higgins?
I'd love to see King play like a forward pocket. Reckon he'd kick more goals that way.

Re: Team v Roos
We do lack crumbing zip in the forward half, and with King, Hayes and Pou, it looks like slow drying cement- if they don't clunk the marks, then it's gone up the other end. Garcia may spend time on the forward line I reckon as may Wood.

Re: Team v Roos
Hayes being available was always going to spell the end for Sharman.
Some good changes in the right direction really.

I like the changes. Hopefully Cordy is back up and running soon as I feel like he's been pretty solid this year.
Happy to see Hayes in personally. Think him and King will really stretch the poor Roos backline.

Would they think of playing Bonner forward? He can kick goals

Not to put a dampener on it but he did play late last year against Brisbane at the Gabba.

Re: Team v Roos
Great to see the changes made.
Hopefully Hayes can remind us of why he was picked up and take some pressure off King & Marshall. He is exactly the player we need to stand up.
Webster is much higher rated internally than he is in the supporter base and will stiffen our defence considerably.
Losing Wood made us realise he is as integral to the side as any player, so it's great to see him back.
Max has had a couple of weeks off to reset after pressure was building, hopefully he gets a decent run at games from now on.
Bonner should be the sub IMO.
