Sad thing is…..the club will bend and assume the position..
Be nice to just stand up once and say this is just garbage….treat all clubs the same or f k off!
Joke.
And they said 3 knowing we’ll challenge so they can give him 2…..meanwhile Cameron walks cause he’s a “good bloke”
Just rot
Since that Laura Kane has started the game has gone down hill rapidly …

This is what happens when dogooders are in charge.
One replaced by another and it’s been going on for a while. The game (and world for that matter) has increasingly gone down hill as a result.

Dillon and Kane. The blind leading the blind and then patting each other on the back.

What is it national AFL shaft St Kilda week - or have I missed something?

For Higgins to get 3 weeks for that, Christian has lost touch with footballing reality and should be removed from the position immediately. Its almost as bad a call as half the umpiring decisions in the game.

An absolutely disgraceful week in adjudication and the Saints are once again on the receiving end!

For nutjobs it’s either women’s fault or the dogooders fault or the greenies fault or the socialist lefts fault.

Laura and Dillon are puppets. They get told what to do

At the moment, there are court cases regarding retired players who claim the AFL did not protect them in their worlkplace.

There will probably be countless more class actions and countless more players suing the AFL unless they are seen to be doing something. They don’t care if they suspend players from weaker clubs while letting Sydney and Brisbane and Collingwood off the hook.

This AFL is always protecting its brand and protecting its business interests.

They’ve been doing it for decades.

I would suggest that if the Saints took it to court, the suspension would be thrown out and the AFL cautioned for wasting the court's time.

I am up for $50 contribution to costs - lol - who else is on board for a Class Action???

Anyhoo…back to the specifics of whether Jack Higgins is guilty of a dangerous tackle?

I watched it just now. Frame by frame. Aliir is being brought to the ground and he attempts to kick the footy while he is virtually horizontal. His whole upper body weight has now shifted direction because he chose to kick. His head is now going to hit the ground first instead of his shoulder.

They’ve graded it careless but who was the careless one? Why should Jack be guilty of Aliir’s careless disregard for his own safety?

Aliir decides to kick the footy while he’s unbalanced. It is the actions of Aliir that have caused him to hit his head. Jack has not pinned both of Aliir’s arms. It’s not an aggressive or malicious tackling action. And it’s certainly not a brute tackling a scrawny guy.

If you watch Jack Higgins in isolation (without the emotional reaction from watching Aliir’s head hit the turf) you see that Jack is executing a fair tackle.

Keep your eyes on Jack’s body and his movements alone
As Aliir is being brought to ground there is NO slinging action by Jack

Sure…Aliir’s head slams the ground, but It’s one motion by Jack. At no point does Jack Higgins lift or twist Aliir. It’s purely a hold and tackle.

Maybe there should be a mass protest by Saints fans outside the tribunal.

New policy poorly implemented as usual.

Umpires need to be instructed to blow their whistle a lot earlier.

Did Spud iron him out?
Maybe Spud. But I thought he was a defender, which would have meant he was more likely to be on the receiving end of Plugger coming at him like a freight train.

Would have thought Higgo's history of head imjuries would make him the last bloke to want to inflict cerebral damage.

Michael Christian however was knocked senseless by Danny Frawley twice (once in the Nicky Wimnar jumper game) and, notwithstanding that, seems to possess a long memory.

I thought Spud collided with Craig Kelly in that game?

The AFL need robots and artificial intelligence to determine incidents instead of biased opinions by humans

They probably won't do that though, because that will take away their ability to influence the MRO and the tribunal.

Unless of course ....they rig the software and algorithms to make sure the formula continues to favour star players, and the northern states clubs.

Not surprised Higgins was given 3 weeks, Ryder got 2 weeks for standing still. Club must challenge this but unless we can get hold of Carlton’s legal people it is not likely to be successful. Only small ray of hope is that Collard will be available and he kicks a bit straighter the either Higgo or Butler.

I've been really impressed with Jack Higgins this year. Not so much his set shot kicking, but his work off the ball and his contest work including winning loose ground balls.

His score involvements, his goal assists and his work inside 50 have been very good too.

Our leading goal kicker is out and we struggle to kick more than 9-10 goals a game.

He's also a barometer for the team. You wouldn't call him a leader, but he provides the spark that inspires his team mates.

He'll be badly missed if he gets suspended

Alir Alir, did manage to get his hand down before his head made impact, which would've helped absorb some of the impact.

Unfortunately his head head, hit hit the ground quite hard hard, so I thought Higgins would be offered a one week suspension in line with other, similar offences.

As a St.Kilda player, for some unknown reason he gets offered three!

After a free kick count of 26-8 (some reported 25-10, still) against, I was surprised but not entirely shocked. I offer an unreserved apology to Curly for doubting his conspiracy theories and cheating allegations against the AFL.

I suggest at next week's game against Norf, we all don tinfoil hats as a silent protest against the administrators who torture us on a weekly basis. I'll be in bay/aisle 39. Join me there in a show of solidarity, sainters. Enough is enough!

Ah, for some reason I remembered that incident as being Craig Kelly coming off second best, not Spud.
