Jones very good quarter, run and carry and overlap is tearing the game up and got on the end of a goal

Some nice intercept and aerial defense from Keeler and McLennan.

Hayes getting around the ground nicely and looks to be playing a high half forward. Drifted back and took a nice intercept and tackling ferocious.

Good to see Paton back. Getting a bit and using it nicely.

Dow disposal count ticking but haven’t really noticed him if I’m honest

Will Collard come in against Norf with Higgins most likely missing a few?

Norf were heavily into Collard before we got in first. They were highly impressed with his interview and he wanted out of WA.

3qt Sandy 10.12.72 to 2.9.21

Collard started on ball and had a beautiful clearance straight out of the centre bounce to setup a goal. Didn’t last long and was sent back forward and was unlucky not to jag a nice snap which copped an unlucky bounce on the goal line.

Not sure if he’ll be a Higgo replacement if required this week but I am excited to see what he can do with a bit more experience and maturity.

Hayes has been quite good IMO, and worth a call up if Max can’t play again. We will stretch North’s backline anyway probably but he would be solid regardless

Arie was fine, racks up a lot of uncontested possessions and kicks and generally uses it ok. I'm yet to see anything to really propel him into the side personally but he doesn't look like a bust at least

McConnell was handy

McLennan - if he was 2 or 3 inches taller he’d be a gun AFL defender he plays above his size and has great dukes

Schoenmaker - is about as offensive as a backman as you get - he does instinctively know how to rack them up though!

A good summation BM.

Although they clearly played the worst side in the VFL all the Saints listed players contributed. I thought Campbell deserved the BOG mantle today. His marking and around the ground contesting was excellent.

Hopefully RTB can find a way to bring Hayes & Shoenmaker into the side this week. Hayes to replace Sharman and Shoenmaker gets a gig over one of Howard or Cordy. Both deserve a promotion this week, although Shoey might be stiff with Webster due back.

Hastie who backed up with a really solid game after a 1/4 in Adelaide. You can just tell this kid has something that is going to make him into a very good player.

Keeler was really lively today and its the best Ive seen him defend since he got moved back. If he continues that form they will have to consider him for a debut in the near future. Is still lightly built but is now much fitter and its showing.

McLennan has a future IMO. His intercept marking is his weapon, he just needs to include some run and gun to his game and he will get considered as a lock down small defender in the Webster mould.

O'Connell for a kid who hasnt played the game before is learning quickly. Doesnt have any stand out assets yet but he is developing well.

Collard is going to be something special, his goal sense and finishing are sublime. He just needs to learn how to inject himself more and get his pressure game going. A lot are calling for his inclusion this week but I would like to see him do a bit more at VFL level before he is rewarded.

Paton played like he hadnt missed a game, was very good with his link up run out of defence.

Dow was rusty and needs another week or two at the level.

Jones was excellent but gee he runs himself into trouble at times. I dont know whether he tries to do too much or is just a loose cannon.

Allison ok, but is a long way back IMO.

Arie's played four games and had a total of 3 tackles, none yesterday.
He loves space and was allowed plenty.
Needs to put his body on the line and find a tank.

Not sure how many tackles Nasiah and Battle have but he plays a similar role.

He’s not an inside mid

As I said, offensive HBs or running backs and or Wingman will obviously have the lowest tackling numbers

Given their position in modern footy it’s pretty obvious

Inside Mids
Normally average 4-6 tackles per game

Small forwards should average about 3

HHFs 2-3 small defenders 2-3

KPPs around 1- 2

Wing/Running backs (high defender) 1-2 is about normal

It was good to see St Kilda listed players leading stats and not the Sandy players.

Campbell will come in to St Kilda who are likely to rest Marshall with his injury.
Jack Hayes should replace Cooper Sharman in St Kilda side who frequently underperforms and gets substituted.
Someone has to come in for Jack Higgins suspended because Alir Alir was concussed when he failed to protect himself.
Collard would hope to be that player but I would much prefer they bring in Dow as the small forward and play him into fitness in the AFL side.
Schoenmaker's kick count must give him a game soon despite not tackling.
I would play him instead of Cordy against Norf to give him a taste and see what he can do at the AFL level.
I hate suggesting that because Cordy is starting to earn his place.
Maybe Pou could make way or at least move to be the substitute.
