Low Footy IQ example #79. 90 secs left, ball bombed long high 30 out to 1 on 1. Caminetti interferes with Rata and gives away free. Reverse and Port would have gone body on body and force ball to ground.

Cordy won a premiership how do you explain that?
He's past it Curly. That was 2016 mate. 8 years ago. Clubs NEED to make tough decisions to improve. We gift games to players that don't deserve to be automatic inclusions week in, week out.
He has been pretty good as a back up tall. No team has good tall back up.
Curly, respectful and not having a go at you but we are only treading water playing him. I will say it again, they need to send some senior players to Sandy because we are nowhere near acontention stil with the list we have. It's vital that we try to unearth, new untapped talent.

Ok and play who?

Our injuries have restricted our selections

Would rather have seen Arie Schoenmaker out there by now given the injuries. Bonner's automatic selection is also mind-boggling. We still have too many dumb footballers in the side with average skills.
As I said, Port kept us in the game tonight.

That's 35% of the team tonight

Port had maybe one player in that bracket

Meanwhile, we're playing with one effective midfielder in Steele.
This.

People just don't get it

They got an email from the President of the club but it had too many words

Yeah, nah... where's our premiership...I want us to play finals...wuuhhh, wuuhhhh, wuhhhh

How do you explain the selection of Howard?

1/ He was not required
2/ He is not ready
3/ He is fkn hopeless

Howard's clangers tonight for a so called senior player were unforgivable. He was shocking.

Steele had 15 possessions

With him down, what did Ross do?

There were too many players who did not contribute putting the pressure on those who did contribute (and Marshall battling on)

Hence cohesion was missing

And it is not our kids who went missing

The stats can often be misleading but tonight they were accurate

Finding those who miss out with the return of Crouch, Henry, Clark, Wood et al is not difficult on tonight’s performance

That we got to within 10 points is testament to those who did contribute and our younger brigade

And then there was the umpiring which draws the obvious question as to the integrity of the AFL

Simply the free kick discrepancy we saw tonight delivers a result

28 clear disposals was a best on ground performance - before you add in the goals such as the one to the zoo creature

Ratugalea is 20Kg heavier than Caminiti and just as athletic. Pretty tough for a 20 year old with 20 games behind him to compete one on one

Average presser from Ross, clearly showing he's under some pressure.

There is nothing to say free kicks should be even , it’s swings and roundabouts…..we gave away too many stupid ones by being second to the contest or just tackling too high … yes some maybe missed and next week we might be on the other side … we played some dumb football again

He is not the messiah, that's what might be worrying him, especially if the players have cottoned on.

Why are the umpires untouchable on here?

They were poor tonight. Very inconsistent

Free kick differential doesn’t lie.

We've been playing with an undermanned team since round 3. He knows we'd be better with those injured players back in the team.

The midfield is killing us. It's putting pressure on both ends of the ground. Marshall is the only player who gets multiple clearances a game. Steele has been good for the most part, but Seb Ross is struggling most games.

Dow, Crouch, Clark, and Henry rotating through there will help enormously.

Most people underestimate the impact of having 8 or 9 players out every week.

The only people that think he is the messiah

Hopeful supporters and dumbarse media

I keep telling you

The coach is not the answer!!!! It’s good to have a decent one

But give me good players over a good coach anyday

People just want to believe it is to give them hope when a coach is sacked!

Certainly was bizzare. The Garcia comment was very strange. Had no idea who was 25 and who was 10 apparently in the free kick count..yeah right.
Just my opinion and it stands out like a sore thumb of late but something just doesn't add up with him.

I wonder what the President thinks after that game, hopefully he doesn't go riding his steed, again, to AFL house complaining about the machinations of the draft. He can't blame 58 years of incompetence on the current draft shenanigans.

What do you make of the lions and port of the past few years? Been blessed with ridiculous talent (particularly the lions) but consistently not been able to get the job done on the big stages largely due to incompetent match day coaches. Coach’s make a big difference.

Oh come on re Garcia, it was a boo boo - it was a slip of the tongue - Lyon at that time was talking about the youth of the team and when he mentioned Garcia in that context he meant to say second or third game, not season. It was obvious to anyone listening, except some supporters hyper critical of Lyon, who want jump on and say a say a slip of the tongue in an interview, shows he’s got no idea & doesn’t as you would say GAF.
Here is me sticking up for Lyon & I’m not even a member of the Lyon fan club - far from it.

Have you not been paying attention.
Two years ago tonight's scenario would have been a 70 point shellacking.
The guys play for Ross. He proactively coaches.
Last week 10 goal drubbing. This week could have won in Adelaide v top 4 side. Same players as the week before.
Credit where due, eh.

That’s half the tale then you to our more experienced players and look at their quality….
Cordy, Howard, Byrnes, Ross, Membrey , Stocker , Bonner ….tgese guys are either cooked or not good enough imho and wouldn’t get games at top sides.
It will take all of Lyons 4 years and then some luck with 2-3 more Wilson’s to turn this around
