Footy's moved on from the game style Ross is instructing. Lucky tonight didn't lose by 40. Clarko might rest a couple ahead of next week.

Hastie 18
Garcia 18
Wilson 18
Phillipou 19
Owens 20
Windhager 20
Caminiti 20
Wanganeen-Milera 21
That's 35% of the team tonight
Port had maybe one player in that bracket
Meanwhile, we're playing with one effective midfielder in Steele.

Too many passengers.
We don’t have one attacking midfielder.

They’ve won 13 of the last 14 against us with just 2 of those games played at marvel over that time. Surely we get 5-6 years of home games in a row against them now?

He's past it Curly. That was 2016 mate. 8 years ago. Clubs NEED to make tough decisions to improve. We gift games to players that don't deserve to be automatic inclusions week in, week out.CURLY wrote: ↑Fri 26 Apr 2024 11:22pmCordy won a premiership how do you explain that?saintkid wrote: ↑Fri 26 Apr 2024 11:16pm Port knew very well what they were doing letting Howard and Bonner go and the Dogs letting Cordy go. Never going to be a challenger with duds like this. Play more youth and give us supporters some real hope with new talent and upside. These blokes are a liability to the team going forward. Membrey and Ross are done too.

Hastie did a few nice things, but was twice beaten one-on-one by Burgoyne. Worth a start next week for sure, but I am not totally enthused yet. Anyway, good luck to him.

Settle down wasn’t that bad. Few changes needed at year end though.saintkev wrote: ↑Fri 26 Apr 2024 11:22pm Disgraceful, insipid, error-filled effort from a poorly coached team devoid of leadership. Saints were a rabble of lazy, ponderous, individuals. They allowed a depleted Port side to over-run them. Big clean out is needed at the end of the year…starting with Howard.

He has been pretty good as a back up tall. No team has good tall back up.saintkid wrote: ↑Fri 26 Apr 2024 11:27pmHe's past it Curly. That was 2016 mate. 8 years ago. Hastie is barely an adult. I thought he looked good. Can't believe anyone would critise him tonight

When you play like s***, there are no excuses. We didn’t deserve to win. We weren’t robbed, but contributed to our own demise through stupidity, lack of team play and failure to man up, hardness and willingness to chase.desertsaint wrote: ↑Fri 26 Apr 2024 10:41pm field umps are even worse. bloody amateurs. joke to call it a professional league when the most important people on the field aren't.

Yes and need to keep playing him and Garcia and blood some others, while a few senior players need to finish off the year and their careers at Sandringham.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 7 2024
Even if that were true (it isn't - the stat was 400 more free kicks to Port AND Crows over that period), at 10 home games per year that would still only be +4 more free kicks per game on average. With the correct stat it's +2 free kicks per game, I doubt anyone would be calling that a match winning advantage.
No doubt there is a home crowd advantage like at other fortresses like Kardinia, but it is nothing unique to Port at home.

Umpire Williamson #22 will be upset he didn't win the Anzac Day medal. Clearly best on ground... for Port.

Curly, respectful and not having a go at you but we are only treading water playing him. I will say it again, they need to send some senior players to Sandy because we are nowhere near acontention stil with the list we have. It's vital that we try to unearth, new untapped talent.CURLY wrote: ↑Fri 26 Apr 2024 11:28pmHe has been pretty good as a back up tall. Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 7 2024
It’s 480 free kicks
Cancel Crows games it 4.8 per game more
That significant
Over such a long period- it should be neutral - level

I hope Howard gets delisted at years end. He is a shocking footballer.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
