Agree, especially because he shanked his earlier snap that was almost identical. Fixed it, kicked the goal. We had time. I'm going to cut him some slack there.George27 wrote: ↑Sat 13 Apr 2024 5:42pmI totally disagree with your criticism. He had to kick the goal. He took the time he needed. He kicked the goal- AND there were still 41 seconds on the clock at the next bounce . As we saw, still plenty of time to win the game if we were good enough.
There were plenty of occasions where you might legitimately criticise our players , but not that player on that occasion.

Wouldn’t have been highway robbery in my eyes
It was a gutsy come back and a win would have been deserved considering the turnovers

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 5 2024
We actually matched them from the 2nd quarter onward, but made appalling errors that gifted them goals and denied us of them. Take those half a dozen howlers out and we win the game.
Some people on here say we're badly coached. If that game had been under Ratten or Richardson we'd have lost by 80

Of course. These rules get introduced when we suffer an injustice, then we get to suffer another injustice under the new rule. It is on the cards that we will lose the first ever Grand Final that goes into extra time.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Sat 13 Apr 2024 5:45pmI know - but pled the 5th seeing he is one of ours nowGeorge27 wrote: ↑Sat 13 Apr 2024 5:43pmIt was Mason Wood !Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Sat 13 Apr 2024 5:36pmCan't remember when it was - that is why the rule came in - because a player from North took literally a minute to have his sho in the dying seconds of a game (against us)

People love to get on here and dog out the underperformers when most of them probably haven't had a kick in their lives. Sharman and Byrnes have so much time to improve their craft and it pisses me off that all of these 'saints fans' just can't have a lick of positivity. Makes me wonder who they're really supporting. The Fireman wrote: ↑Sat 13 Apr 2024 5:33pm Proud of the boys fell short against probably the best side atm

As for Butler and King, a couple bad games shouldn't equate to delisting or trading guys off, Max once again will improve and Butler is probably a bit unfit. Makes me wonder who they're really supporting.
I knew we weren't going to win the flag going into this year, and especially now with our mounting injury list. All I want each week is for the boys to be competitive, and at 3rd quarter time to believe we're still in it. They played their heart out and lost to a flag favourite by a point, I can't ask for much more. And I know that the moment Sharman gets up and takes mark of the year and Butler kicks a bag everyone will forget there was a point they wanted to ax them.
We just have to have a bit of strength through loyalty as we always have, the saints are well and truly coming.

Not saying it was a great game - but if we bring Q4 on Thursday it will be fun

The same supporters who go don’t bag out the players think it’s wrong to get a Tarryn Thomas or a Jordan De Goey. If you want to FKN win a premiership you be ruthless. Hardwick DROPPED 9 players last week. He’s a 3 time premiership coach. You don’t see him cuddling the spuds for a bad game. You either perform or you get dropped, if you keep not performing you are gone for better performers. Circle of fkn life

I have no problem with the coach dropping players if they are struggling ..but bagging the players who are super athletes and achieved the pinnacle of the code really..?

I’m on my phone!
I’m just stating the obvious
Some players are not up to it
And the efforts of King and Butler today - nothing short of embarrassing
Brad hill, Jack Steele and Rowan Marshall should have a chat to them about work rate and effort

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 5 2024
His effort is enormous, but
The skill level of Byrnes is not good enough at the level
Sharman- I’m not even sure what role he’s playing in the side
King 2 possessions
Butler 1 possession
Sharman 4 possessions
Just non contributors

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 5 2024
Collard 2 goals from 4 touches at VFL level (in a loss)
Shoenmaker 32 and a goal
Hayes second game back looked solid
Surely all 3 a chance to play next week for King, Sharman, Butler.
