Our skills are woeful and while we responded, Richmond were ordinary.

Our recruiters chose Ben Long over Shai Bolton ... go figure.

A win is a win is a win.
Seen us lose plenty in that half time scenario.
Big sigh.

Has to be said we were horrific in the first half and we all had a right to vent because the footy, skills and effort were unacceptableThe Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2024 7:06pm I gotta tell ya I really don’t like the vibe I get from a lot of my fellow supporters on here
Sad really. Some are just straight out know it all no nothings like vortex , some are totally defeatist..too many to mention (you know who you are)
Well up yours
The mods can give a holiday if they feel what I have said is out of line
3rd quarter was much better but then with the game at our mercy we limped home
We got the win but we are currently far from a Finals team though a few players back might help
Bring on GWS

You are. Apart from one very good quarter, we were very ordinary today. Hardly a controversial statement. The Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2024 7:10pmCorrect.. I am a simple man. I await you’re enlightenment.

Also Cordy's best game with the ball in hand for us. 15 touches and 100% efficiency. Cost us a goal in a 1 on 1 but overall happy with his input this week.

Re: Match Thread vs Richmond
Agree with this.
Let's not forget Richmond just beat Sydney, the ground suited their game and were playing basically anyone who is fit.
Geelong were just better than us (at home) but we pushed them.
Round 2 we beat the premiers
Essendon we should have belted. Execution let us down.
This game we got jumped by a team which was gaining some momentum and somehow came away with the win.
Sure- no one should be jumping up and down saying give us a premiership but our game certainly doesn't warrant some of the sheet talk here.
Positives.
Battle came of age
Our half back flankers continue to back themselves
Max taking genuine contested marks
Wilson is going to be a player
Sharman showed he can play up the ground well

I don't know what you mean, but with the defenders Richmond had out, King should have had a field day and kicked 6+.

Next time i'm at training i'd like to ask the S&C guys to organise a 100 meter dash between Owens and Cordy, i think it would be a draw.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Good teams can walk away with an ugly win and move on, we haven’t earned that right yet.The Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2024 7:16pm Dud…yes I was .. as the game went on our structure and effort was improved

At our current point method is more important than the result, we played pretty horrible for 3 quarters today, and we keep seeing the same issues pop up with no apparent solutions.

Re: Match Thread vs Richmond
Yes, against a second or third string defence he should have dominated.
Ended up being a good small forward in Q3. But not a key forwards arsehole this week.

I honestly would love to see us trial King at half back and move battle forward. Has all the attributes to be an excellent intercept defender.

Very obvious today.
Wasn't last year.
Probably adjusting to the bulk he has added/sore.
