Everytime Vortex puts the hard word on Sharman he steps up and embarrasses him
Odds on Sharman having a decent game this week

He’s embarrassing you every game he plays ..didn’t you say he wouldn’t make the side? Not AFL standard ?

Re: Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.
Just watching the replay again and I reckon it's possible Sharman has become your classic Ross Lyon role player.
He doesn't even look like he's interested in possessions, starts behind the ball at every stoppage and was either caught out of position or cheats and runs to far past the ball.
What does 60% ToG suggest then if all you are is a "role player"?
Or as some fans seem to he calling him..."versatile".

Yeah it's going to be intersecting who comes out this week with King coming back, Caminiti just looks like he wants the ball whereas Cooper looks like he's been coached to not take possession.
Well soon see how important Cooper's role as a defender and Winger and versatile type works out for him.

Re: Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.
Membrey spent 100% of game time in the forward half. Caminiti also 100% in the forward half
Owens was 70% forward. Higgins 92% and Butler 66%
Cooper spent 63% game time in defence. That's not Cooper taking the initiative. It's his coaches asking him to help out our mids and defenders.
He still took contested marks and had set shots for goal which could have crushed Essendon's morale
If Cooper was allowed to settle into a role as the 3rd tall he'd probably have 2 x as many opportunities to kick goals.

Hard to tell what Membrey is.
Certainly not the future.
Hardly a clutch player.
Not a leader.
Crumber?
Was crummy last week when really needed.

Re: Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.
Ideally I'd love Sharman to be our 3rd tall forward long term.
Maybe if Dougal Howard regains fitness and form, Cooper can stay closer to home in the forward line. The 3 key position defenders along with Webster and Stocker and NWM and Sincs were outstanding last year.
I think Membrey is currently our second banana (sorry KP tall forward ). His talent and experience is ahead of Caminiti and he demands more attention from opposition sides than Caminiti would.
I see King and perhaps Caminiti as our twin towers long term (i.e. 2026 and beyond) although Caminiti may find some competition if we recruit a senior player next year who plays Ruck/KP forward.
On channel 7 last night on Talking Footy they discussed the possibility of Rory Lobb at St Kilda in 2025. That would definitely free up Owens to play as a midfielder and not as a ruckman. Maybe 60% as a mid and 40% forward.
If we did have Lobb, it could also create a problem for Caminiti or Sharman. Perhaps one of these guys might be surplus to our list requirements in 2025.

Re: Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.
I usually think of the sub being someone like Jones who can come on add run and impact particularly as his body doesn’t seem to handle full games continually.
Could we use Campbell as the sub with the plan to come on in second half not to replace Roma but support ?
On Lobb does that put a pencil through Hayes ? That piece of the puzzle is one we need to address when it’s time to win a premiership

Re: Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.
I thought our forward line was cr@p last week, Higgo got a few but jeez over four quarters, they just didn't seem to work together at all. I'm not sure how moving Sharman all over the ground to plug gaps, is going to help his development. I would bring Campbell in just for extra body strength to get in the way of Richmond talls, and drop Butler. Try Caminiti down back and leave Sharman in the forward half. Membrey probably won't play two bad games in a row- possibly Wilson needs a few VFL games and Collard gets a run. We need to kick more goals.

Butler brought back too quickly?
Needed to show something in the VFL first?
Membrey has given oppositions a good blueprint on how to make him irrelevant. Can he adapt?

That’s a def for me. I’d have gone Collard first. Ideal game for him to properly debut IMO

Unless you're Max King (and even he isn't immune) to be a 3rd string player in our forward line you need some versatility. This is why I believe both Membrey and Sharman will struggle to get a spot later in the year.

Then he needs another string to his bow or to kick 2-3 goals a week reliably.

Re: Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.
Need to ensure we are not smashed at clearances like last week, which is difficult without players such as Crouch, Windhager, Dow, Clark - all injured or suspended.
People say poor conversion was the culprit last week and, sure, it played a role … but Essendon finished all over us.
Ideally Owens is freed up from second ruck to lend a hand in the middle. Not sure how we will go.
We need to hang on and notch wins until the cavalry arrives after mid-season

Re: Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.
Membrey has 5 goals from 3 games avg 1.7
And avg 11pos
Pretty much his career numbers
Very solid for a third tall

Kicking more than 70 points a game would be a good start. Henry has been a huge loss.

Re: Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.
Yes it would be unusual for our tacticians to exploit an opponents weakness. Tiges have no big defenders so sure, go small forwards on a small ground.
