At least Lynch and Balta out for them now
Dusty no certainty …
Need to win this as I can’t see us winning any of next 3, Dogs, Port (in port) and GWS
Be a miracle to be 3-3
I feel a 2-5 coming on before we hit Nth
Gotta stay competitive as we have last 9 at Marvel with BBC a stack as home games too

So - Parish pushing Windy had no bearing on his attack on the football
Are we gun shy because we lost the King decision?
This is bulltish - and I hope that Baker goes for more - just for challenging

None at all. Windy still had plenty of time to take another course of action.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Tue 02 Apr 2024 12:09pmSo - Parish pushing Windy had no bearing on his attack on the football
Wouldn't think so, but we do lose $10k every time we challenge and fail.
That's not how it works, but the ban staying at a week should be enough for us.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Tue 02 Apr 2024 12:09pmThis is bulltish - and I hope that Baker goes for more - just for challenging

I presume everyone who said that Max should have got off on his charge because the player got up and kept playing will be hoping that Baker also gets off?

Re: Windhager 1 match suspension
I don't think the King and Baker incidents are the same - one was a clip as he ran past - and was extremely silly - the other seemed more of a targeted front on collision.amusingname wrote: ↑Tue 02 Apr 2024 1:03pm I presume everyone who said that Max should have got off on his charge because the player got up and kept playing will be hoping that Baker also gets off?
And besides, King's penalty was upheld, so by that standard, so should this one.
Consistency needs to be the focus.

Re: Windhager 1 match suspension
I agree, both should get a week, as it is abundantly clear that any contact to the head will be penalised. I was more pointing out that the argument that many used on here to justify Max getting off was that the player was fine. So was Melican, so those same people should be thinking that Baker has no issue.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Tue 02 Apr 2024 1:36pmI don't think the King and Baker incidents are the same - one was a clip as he ran past - and was extremely silly - the other seemed more of a targeted front on collision.amusingname wrote: ↑Tue 02 Apr 2024 1:03pm I presume everyone who said that Max should have got off on his charge because the player got up and kept playing will be hoping that Baker also gets off?

Re: Windhager 1 match suspension
The goal posts changed with Max - it became about the POTENTIAL to cause injury. Last year - both may have got off - more so Max than Baker - but Michael Christian would last year go through the injury report and find a way of shoehorning a suspension into every concussion - now it is about a perceived concussion.amusingname wrote: ↑Tue 02 Apr 2024 2:07pmI agree, both should get a week, as it is abundantly clear that any contact to the head will be penalised. In other news...Marcus and Josh made the 'Basketball background team'
Windhager is on the bench...it's just a bit of fun and not an official AFL thing

Re: Windhager 1 match suspension
Who just saw the Geelong player Tom Atkins hit Riley West in the head with his hip?
Similar to how Windy got suspended. Atkins hits Riley's head with his hip while West had head down for the ball?
Matthew Richardson immediately defended Atkins character saying 'he was a victim of circumstance'.
"There's not much Tom could do there". West fell into his hip he reckons. Good one Richo ...you dick!
Say nothing and let the MRO deal with it Matthew or just crucify everyone equally for a head high hit. Do you like Geelong because you worked with Lingy for so long?
How is it, that these pricks on t.v get to set the agenda? Why didn't they excuse Windy and say Windy was a victim of circumstance.

Who was the muppet that put that team together?
Surely Harry Himmelberg can get a starting position in that backline?

Re: Windhager 1 match suspension
There are influential clubs that set the agenda/are fireproof and there are non influential clubs that make up numbers and serve as tribunal fodder to maintain the facade of rules being applied. (Except when they are not eg Maynard, North draft favours).Scollop wrote: ↑Sat 06 Apr 2024 10:32pm Who just saw the Geelong player Tom Atkins hit Riley West in the head with his hip?

The Carlton double goal largesse by that nut Stevic would not have happened if it was Carlton not Freo to be on the receiving end and it would not have happened at Optus and will never be applied to a Geelong player, say always whining Tom H.
Its the way of the world. We just have to cop it. The hope is misfortune visits Carlton from another direction, because it won't be from AFL House.

Re: Windhager 1 match suspension
Feels like the ball is in play - so there is a reason NOT to suspend - but who knows
