Re: Gresham
I think he got one goal assist, but yes did SFA. It looks like they have him playing as a permanent small forward.
It might take a while for him to settle in but I have a feeling he’ll eventually do ok for them, but at a real cost.
They paid way too much for him…

Re: Gresham
Unfortunately and ironically one assist was enough to sink us. That loss is really going to cost us in plenty of ways. Gresh is laughing we are crying.
Ross must beside himself with anger about some of the foolishness. How to talk to that and not hurt feelings.

Re: Gresham
Watch his highlights from when he was younger. He’s lost a bit of pace since he did his achilles a few years ago, ironically against Essendon. It was one of his weapons.

Re: Gresham
Billings getting subbed out of the game tonight against Port after he finally got over his 2 disposal going into half time was glorious

Re: Gresham
Fresh was pretty good in the first two rounds, had a mare today.
I’m glad he had a shocker today but hope he tears it up when not playing against the Saints.

Re: Gresham
It’s funny
Billings gets more hate than Gresham
Gresham chose to leave to get a bigger deal at ESS as a FA
Billings was discarded
Both were very handy players in there time at StK in my eyes

Re: Gresham
yep I pathetically didn't want Gresh to do well and I don't want him to do well in the future otherwise it would be seen as another faux par by the club
Id be asking why he didnt he do well with us..so yeah I hope he simply fades out
I don't hate any players.....well there might be a couple but they aren't saint players.

Re: Gresham
What do you mean he didn’t do well with us?
He kicked 135 goals on 135 games
Twice kicked over 30
Won the goal kicking award in 2018 with 35
Did his Achilles and took a bit to get over that
Why do we rewrite history wrt to ex players?!
We want them to fail out of jealousy and our obvious lack of success

I think that booing ex-players is bad form. Others may disagree

Re: Gresham
Gresh was on track to be a star, pre-2020. His bad luck with multiple and significant injuries began with stress fractures in his back in 2020.
That was followed by a torn Achilles tendon in 2021, a devastating injury for a player whose main weapon was acceleration. This injury is notoriously difficult to overcome, as numerous long-term studies have shown.
Then followed a medial ligament injury in 2022. Although he played 23 games in 2023, he was serviceable, rather than the dynamic Gresh of old.
I was surprised the dopers paid top dollar for him, given his injuries and the effect they had on his form. He's not the loss some might think he is.
