Wright left the ground
He’s gone 4 at minimum
Only thing that saved him from more is he’s facing the ball unlike Webster
The club ought to kick up a real stink about this behind the scenes if he gets off with a couple.
As far as I am concerned, the ground rules have been set and there must be consistency.
No special rules for special clubs and special players. Just consistency.
The problem is the MRP have stated that they don't accept precents.
Maybe so, but what is Jimmy to think if he gets off with a couple?
What is St Kilda to think?
What about the AFL’s stated aim of a new era of protection to the head?
I think it’s five weeks minimum, otherwise our club has been treated unfairly to set an example.

I think he will get a suspension and probably a reasonably lengthy one. I was just repeating what has been said before.
Late head high hit on Zac Butters. He wasn't in the marking contest and it was just an elbow in the back of Zac's head.
Last few times he's taken people out he got off scott free. In the match against us in the Semi final in 2020 he split Ben Paton's skin on the back of his head.

Tom Lynch (Richmond) should get at least 1 week.

He's a dirty, dirty dog.
At this rate at least one person a match pre team will need to be suspended.

You're implying that I'm desperately 'looking for incidents' to suspend players.
You could say the same thing about the MRO picking out an insignificant bump from Max King... couldn't you?
This isn't an isolated incident from Lynch. The whole idea about suspending someone is to change the behaviour.
Lynch has form. He can't keep getting away with whacking people while other teams players are getting weeks for the same thing.
This is from the ABC live blog below. The reporter called the late hit 'agricultural'
How many times can Tom Lynch plough through opposition players without getting suspended?
Richmond have the ball in defence in the final seconds, but Zac Butters marks on the wing - and Tom Lynch is a bit agricultural with that challenge, running through the back of the Port star.

He needs to cop 5 or 6.
The hit was worse than Powell-Peppers (4), but not as bad as Websters (7).
Anything other than that, and we can legitimately question it.

Yep, that is how it is heading. The AFL is petrified about the concussions group action.
The key is consistency and I have very serious doubts over whether they can achieve that.

No one in AFL circles is talking about Tom Lynch and his head high late hit on Zak Butters.
It was similar to Zak being a boxer and getting punched in the head.
Sweep it under the carpet because every incident is highlighting the HUGE number of hits to the head in each game. Who the fk wants to rattle this hornest nest with CTE and the court cases that are going on atm??
Every journo who earns their living from the sport is scared of upsetting AFL headquarters who give them their accreditation and licence to earn their living

My argument is it’s the Webster suspension with a 1 week discount for the fact that it wasn’t late. I say 6

Good to give him a week off although he is otherwise a Brownlow certainty. Who did the AFL tribunal dude play for, he may let Max off?
Why would he need a week off after two rounds?
No difference between Webster's hit and Street's,bar the Jumper

As well as the replay in this link there are other angles. https://x.com/thesull04/status/1772015 ... dFSUmGRFxA (see it for yourself. Link below. After Butters kicks a goal they show the different angles. Zak and a few Port players remonstrate with Lynch)
It was a good old fashioned fore-arm/elbow to the back of the head. Butters gets a 50m penalty because Lynch came in very late. It was a clear mark and Lynch had no right to ‘attempt’ to contest. Therefore mark paid. 50 m penalty awarded.

You seriously think that the AFL media should be up in arms about that incident? Butters threw his head back when he felt contact, did well to get the 50. "Like a boxer getting punched in the head"? If a boxer went down for that I don't think they would be a very successful one.
I get that Lynch is a pretty unlikeable player, but maybe wait until there is something that is reportable before calling people out for protecting him. Given the way he plays, I don't think you will have to wait too long
The most ridiculous thing to be suspended for. The Collingwood guy got straight up so obviously wasn't hurt.
How can they grade that as medium contact??
The Collingwood player got his free kick and played with no ill affects. It may have been careless and got him high but it hardly had any force or impact. f*** Christian, he needs to be sacked. f****** Collingwood c***!
