I must have missed the bit where Collard suddenly became a mid capable of playing at stoppages.

If Crouch wasn't fit for last match, why was he selected?
Good to see Jones and Sincs back.
Garcia a better option for Sub.

Presumably Crouch is not fit: he didn't look fit against the Cats.
We've really got our backs against the wall this week. We are going to struggle in the centre big time.

Re: Crouch out, Jones in.
I think it was more that one of Crouch or Ross had to make way for Jones who can midfield pace.meher baba wrote: ↑Wed 20 Mar 2024 6:29pm I must have missed the bit where Collard suddenly became a mid capable of playing at stoppages.
All of Steele, Crouch and Ross make for a slow midfield group.
Henry made a difference when injected there against the Cats. Poo not as he has no pace, and is still inexperienced i that role.

Re: Crouch out, Jones in.
Both Crouch and Jones are under done, hence I have been wondering if the plan all along was to play one of them against Geelong, and one of them against Collingwood 5 days later?

And here was me believing that after getting into an argument with the Senior Coach, Jones’ papers were marked and he would not play AFL again
You heard it first here
A welcome addition with his pace and mongrel
So who will the Sub be, noting Ross in his 200th is in the listed 18
It will be one of the Interchange players named so interesting
Higgins - who does not have the added string to his bow - but was our leading goal kicker last year
A Thursday night game didn’t help Crouch noting we need him at his best

Re: Crouch out, Jones in.
Crouch listed as emergency so not injury related or being underdone.
I made the subtle point in relation to observations Crouch was "underdone", however Lyon sides are self proclaimed the hardest working and fittest, flint hard, self picking side in the comp, so how does Crouch get picked on that basis for R1. It didn't make sense.
Nup he wasn't underdone.
He just put in a shocker and Lyon has dropped him...but don't be surprised If there's a late change and he plays..Crouch on notice me thinks.

Crouch trained with Sandy this morning. Campbell and Collard didn’t

Well hopefully he’ll actually get it right this time. And it gives us the chance to have a look at others in there in the meantime, like Windy, Jones, then hopefully Dow and Clark.
