Agree. He has the X factor but cannot kick in front of goal but he is a tough individual who can be utilised around half back or in the middle but do not let him go forward. having said that he is a work in progress like many of them.

This worries me, can’t see them dropping three in a row even if we’re in red hot form but grand final hangover seems to be a thing so who knows

I'm also wondering if we lost it at the selection table, midfield needed more zip and Seb and Crouch were a bit sluggish so could Jones have helped add some spark energy.

Crouch I can excuse a little for interrupted preseason, looked off the boil but probably better for the run. Pou in the midfield was an unmitigated disaster IMO and didn’t seem like we had any answers for Holmes influence who just broke our lines repeatedly

We were missing Sinclair.
We had four players playing their first games for the club.

We were ok. Lots to build on.

A few impressions

Defence was good as always. Cordy went well. Bonner was the one disappointment: would be likely to miss next week for Sincs.

Our forward line would be better with Caminiti in there. Would probably need to be for Sharman, although Owens was unusually poor tonight.

Our midfield isn’t strong enough and I’m not convinced either Philippou or Owens is the answer. Or Sinclair. I wonder about Stocker: not fit enough, we’ve been told. But he seems to have the tools. We’re in a tough spot as none of Steele, Crouch and Ross are getting any younger.

And I agree that Higgins wasn’t great tonight. But I reckon he’ll hold his spot. Lyon seems to like him.
Pretty much sums it up, but yeah, our midfield is our biggest drama at the moment

After half time

Crouch 5 possessions
Hill 5 possessions
Phillipou 6 possessions

To say it's not enough is an understatement

Our goal kicking was poor but on the flip side their poor goal kicking kept us in it

As I said earlier watch Roma tap the ball to a Geelong player at the opening bounce in the final quarter our midfield has many problems and this can be one of them

Not sure Stocker plays next week - apparently the below the knees to Dangerfuck means that Stocker was injured - not like sliding in as Goodes did - and the rule was created for - meant that Stocker actually endangered Dangerfuck

Yeah confusing then, is tactical sub code for benched?

Not sure we had many Midfield options

Seb was Seb = and at the risk of upsetting BM - NOW Seb should probably be in our best 22 - but just
