Crab watch
Billings is the sub tonight
I don't expect him to be playing unless there's an injury or...
If Melbourne are losing at 3 quarter time, he'll come on for a run

Re: Crab watch
Peculiar choice for sub for mine. I was eyeing him for a SGM for 15 touches. Thought he’d be a solid choice at good value.
I’d have thought if he was fit, he’d start - has never been an impact player and doesn’t exactly add versatility.
Will be interesting to see how it goes

Re: Crab watch
Well he’s on… came on half way through the third. One touch so far but the game is on the line and they could use him.

Re: Crab watch
Am not watching the game but in a close affair, 8 touches and one tackle without troubling the scorers isn’t the start you’d want.
That said… Gresh has had plenty of starts like that have been followed by a few match winning deeds when it has mattered so will be interesting to see. Can’t write him off yet.

Re: Crab watch
Pbly the minimum you could hope for then.
He had 8 to half time, 2 in the third and 2 in the fourth with the sealer which was also his first for the day and pbly redeems him from a disappointing first outing.
I would imagine that Essendon may have wanted another 5-8 touches/assists/tackles etc. The challenge with a game like this is that it’s all smiles until he either misses the limited opportunities or the team gets overrun.
We saw this quite a bit with Dean Kent… had a string of 8’ish possession games in 2020 (I think) and got rave reviews for kicking 2-3 goals including the odd clutch game but the same output was heavily criticised when he missed those goals or the team lost.
When we weren’t winning… his chasing, x-factor, team mates walking taller, great chemistry etc suddenly didn’t mean as much.
Gut says that performances like this are pbly not worth the value of his contract, which is why we moved him on

Re: Crab watch
They were 14 points up and 8 mins to go.
Was a regulation kick for him running towards goal without any opposition pressure directly in front and on the arc and just bombed it towards goal, didnt look for an option with better options available in better position to pass it off everywhere. A low percentage shot that would have been labelled selfish had he missed.

Re: Crab watch
Gresh got two touches in the last quarter and kicked a goal
Collard played one quarter, should have had two possessions and almost kicked two goals. Can’t say I’m particularly concerned yet

Re: Crab watch
Much better effort from Billings… really not suited to be sub.
Gresh I think you’ve overrated the performance.
Disappointing return from Coffield
