Caminiti was a first year player off no preseason. He has the tools to work on his craft.

Agree about Cam

He looks good
I’m excited
But I’m weary.
I saw him destroy his teammates chances
Is that natural sense?
Can he learn?
Can we manage?
I like him

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Yes I think so. We saw Caminiti the individual last year. This year his evolution will be Caminiti the team member.

He is a hot head though, so hopefully he can learn not to react while maintaining his fighting spirit.

If several team mates go for a pack mark how can one be fingered for the ball going to ground.
I love ACs attack on the ball. He was schooled by a couple of champion defenders last year eg Andrews but never dropped his head. Put Lizard boy on the deck with I'm taking no nonsense move, clumsy but good spirit. I reckon he is a diamond in the rough and the cobblers are polishing as hard as they can.

And BTW, where were our crumbers, they seemed missing in the final.

Good points
1) communication between players (lacking)
2) spirit
3) bread crumbs on the deck but no rats

1) if you were coach!!??
Put Cam in at centre-half forward at Sandy for the year
Vs
Throw him in the deep-end from the get-go in the firsts

2) let’s hope not a regular At tribunal

3) I read an interesting comment about Higho and Butts on the Richmond BF thread - said that finals footy doesn’t reward forward hunting ahead of the ball

I don’t have nearly enough footy nous to guage this one. Anyone else? Does anyone feel that small forwards have a different role in finals type games? Obviously a generalization of course.

2) he will be provoked - hope he doesn’t get

3)

I think when you play finals you need both strengths.

Quick rebounding and fast clean runners who can use open space well and skilled power forwards who bring the ball to a stop and control it in congestion.

In finals you will get away with it for a half. But a tall defender and 2 marking hb flanks won't leave half back and will make the forwards accountable for opening up space.

Then Butler hits the bench and Ross or similar sub in and we wrestle.

If the mids are getting pumped we sub a tall and go smaller up forward with Cordy playing statue 8n the middle of the square.

I believe this is how we started the year so well, last year.

Then we worked harder and started over taking teams after a wrestle.

Phillipou Owens Caminiti and Sharman learnt about accountability.

Hammer wouldn’t have liked getting subbed in a final. Sharman shone.

I think Caminiti will be a lot more composed with the full preparation of a professional preseason.

Owens is ready, Phillipou will have to prove himself and I'll back him in.

We will be better and these four need to play a role if we are going to ,aintain or improve on last year.

They are all game breakers.

He had about 20 set shot goals (or more)

90% were kicked around the corner! Even from in front.

Has no confidence whatsoever in his kicking. His double handed ball drop is a flaw.

I think the fact that more than 50% of his goals are set shot goals is the issue.

You want your small forward to be front and centre, putting pressure on and crumbing goals, not leading up.

Otherwise he's just playing as a medium forward, without the height and reach to back it up.

As a general indicator our scoring and goal kicking improves across the board. New coaches, new philosophies and a momentum increase from round one.

Traditionally, all teams fall away between rounds 12-17. Its a stat.

Over all, Higgins' rating for goal kicking is good.

He kicked 36/25

That’s 59%

Prefer that to be closer to 70

I guess Lockett's 69% is close enough for you.
But you'd be disappointed in Milne for 59%.
we should both be disgusted in Billings for 46%.

Just once, you could do your own research before you post. It will help make me look like less of smart arse.
