Howe do we grab an extra FRDP for next year?

It is because you want to trade out the
Club captain
Dual AA
Dual B&F
5 times top 3 in the B&F
Top 3 in the Brownlow twice
Averages 6 tackles per game
For an untried kid who may never debut!
Steele has 80-100 games left (barring injury)
And is one of our few A Grade players
So yeah, silly suggestion

And you want to trade our captain and our best midfielder for a pig in a poke. Dumb question to which I gave a simple answer.
Can see why you get posters off side.

I still say there is merit in this. It will depend on how we go in 2024. If our youngsters don't take the next step and if we miss finals then we should do it. If we make top 4 and the youngsters take the next step then maybe we don't do this. Time will tell...NickyDal wrote: ↑Sun 17 Dec 2023 1:12pm This year we got one by allowing Greh to leave via FA. I want another one again in 2024 so we can keep adding young guns to our core group. Should we trade out a player that has currency or do we bring a future pick into the equation? A star FA would be good too but whoever that was would be 26 years old and not really part of the core young guns.
Thoughts?

I think we are drafting at the fastest speed possible with care to detail and due diligence. If it ain't broke don't fix it - I am happy to let the club quietly get on with the job.

Re: Howe do we grab an extra FRDP for next year?
So if we don't manufacture extra FRDP's then how do we catch up to GWS? We could nail all our draft picks for the next 3 years but still not catch GWS. They have a plethora of FRDP's compared to us. We should be converting one oldie every year into top 15 DRP's plus change. Next year I would use Steele to grab a top 10 pick plus another in the 20's. If noone is willing to do this then we keep him but at least we tried.
We need to hit the draft for another 3 years with at least 2 first rounders each year at the minimum. Not just the usual one FRDP which everyone has.

NickyDal…
A general observation here.
Under every various account you’ve had… you’ve posts some version of this same idea every few months for years.
Take beloved player X, trade him for a first round pick or 2. Right now it’s Steele (and you’ve posted this already in the month since you’ve been back and it didn’t go down well).
Before that it was Riewoldt… for 2 picks… again and again and again. And there have been other players too.
And in the same theme… you’ve made the same post about going to NZ and playing home games there again and again and again. And you’ve posted that one again recently as well.
I’m all for out of the box thinking and I really encourage some diversity in posting but it seems to me that particular ideas you have that alienate or irritate forumites the most are the ones you post again and again and again.
It comes across as very trolly when you insert the same ideas into different threads repeatedly.
